The assortment of tips I received was slightly different from either the listing photo or the included packing slip. These depicted duplicate tips, but each tip I received was unique, wrapped individually in clear plastic film, and - this is important! - easy to separate despite being stacked for shipment.While the tips held up to very stiff frosting without deforming, as per the claims made in the item listing, the included bags were thin and prone to splitting. I had aesthetically better results using a softer frosting and my own piping bag. Watching some Youtube instructional videos was extremely helpful, since my familiar frosting recipes handled differently in these larger tips compared to the decorator set I am accustomed to using. Packing the bag with multicolored frosting "rolls" yielded near-magical results for modest additional effort. Using three separate piping bags with the included three-color coupler gave a more uniform look to each cupcake when frosting many of them; again, I had to look up how to use it on Youtube.I washed and dried the tips promptly after using and have seen no signs of rust.I am very pleased with this purchase and would happily recommend this product to anyone looking for a novelty cake decorating tool.

These were easy to use for cake decorating. Great variety of piping tips.

These tips worked pretty good. Did not even practice using them and just went for it.... I made a lot of mistakes obviously but the end product looked gorgeous anyway. I wish the tips came with a suggestion of the best icing to use and what is the best temperature to use them at. When icing gets to warm then the shape vanishes so put in the fridge for a a few min then continue. When icing is too cold, then it will not break off and when you pull away, you take the placed icing with you, so if too stiff set it down at room temp for a min or so and try again. Plus different icings hold shape and come out differently, so icing recipe selection is important... we ended up mixing two different types of icings together because we ran out and it made things too runny. We used natural dyes and the cake still had a great color. BTW - each tip works a bit differently. Some tips need a lot of pressure and have to hold close to the surface a bit to build up before pulling away while adding more. Others are more push on and then stop before pulling up. With practice, I am sure anyone can do better than I did with zero practice and two random icing recipes. The other two issues were the bags rip easy and my solution was simply to pull another one on top and keep going. I wish the set came with a connector so I could use reusable bags.... the 3-way connector is such a pain to attach that I just want a plain ordinary connector.

These tips are of good quality; however, these are the BIG tips, and require the large couplers. To pipe with these, also, the frosting needs to be of a bit more stiff consistency than when using the smaller tips. My first batch was too soft, my second batch was like concrete and would NOT pipe, but the third batch worked great.It just takes a bit of practice to use these, I'm not a frequent tip user, so take this review with a grain of salt. I'm glad I got them, and everybody thought my cup cakes were wonderfully decorated! Well worth the purchase price!

Large tips for decorating cakes and normal-oversized sized muffins. After a bit of practice you will be able to fly through a few dozen party cakes in no time flat. Lots of variety. You do need a frosting mix on the stiffer side to get a good definition of the many different shapes provided. There are 5 disposable icing bags included too and these are easily replaceable online. Check online tutorials for using these as there are many instructionals that make life so much easier. No instructions provided in the kit.

I'm still playing with these a bit and getting used to them. Overall they are very cool. They clean easily. They work better piping from above but not so well from the side (like when making a rosette cake or something- the shape gets muddies easily). Again its a lot of trial and error for me so far. The bags that come with it are extremely thin and burst very easily, you're better off using a ziploc bag if you dont have any better piping bags.

This arrived today. My 11yr old daughter has been asking to be put into a cake decorating class, so when I saw this on lightening deals, I grabbed it. The kids were waiting for the mailman to deliver this and had already baked a cake, found a frosting recipe, and watched numerous video reviews on you tube. I have included pictures of their first attempt. They are very pleased and are already plotting out their next cake attempt :) really good for them to learn how to make a cake and decorate it! They are 6, 8, and 11 yrs old. They did ask me to mention that there was no leaf tip included. They didn't use the tip coupler... Just put the tip into the bag and cut the end of the bag off.They used a basic buttercream frosting recipe with 1 cup butter, 4 cups sifted powdered sugar, 1 TBS vanilla, 2 TBS milk. You can add more milk if the frosting is too stiff, or add more powdered sugar if it is too runny. And add food coloring to make colors.Beautiful kit :)

The pieces seem okay if you could tell what each one did or how to use them!! Beware it comes with no instructions or diagrams so unless you have the time and supplies to try each tip (if you can figure out the 3 piece coupling) they are really useless!They have now included recipes and pictures as to what each tip looks like when it is used. I am very happy with their response to the problem. I can now recommend them for anyone who likes to have fun decorating in different ways.
