I bought this adapter because I wanted to mirror the screen of my personal windows laptop to the dual Dell monitors set up at my school computer lab, which both have DisplayPort cables coming from them. It didn’t work- the monitors stayed at a black screen and failed to recognize my laptop as an input and my laptop didn’t even notice the HDMI that was plugged in. I powered the adapter with the included Micro USB cable to the USB port on my laptop. I’m not sure why it didn’t work- maybe the output resolution was incorrect, maybe this DisplayPort was not designed for mirroring, maybe my school added protection against hooking up personal laptops. But if you are thinking of buying it for this purpose beware, it’s not meant for the kind of dell monitors that you find in schools/offices.

This HDMI to Display Port Adapter works Great! Just remember to use the USB power cable to make it work and you’re in business.

Worked exactly as described. My triple display docking station had HDMI out and this adapter allowed me to use my existing 1080p DisplayPort monitor. Note, the device requires power... either USB or a simple spare AC brick from your phone parts pile, if USB ports are short.

I used it because my PC has one DisplayPort but 2 HDMI Ports but my monitor only did 144hz On DisplayPort which, on my PC, is being used by my Oculus Rift S. Works great for 144hz gaming, as if it was native DisplayPort.
