Great alternator disconnect switch.
I installed this relay as a disconnect switch of the alternator BAT charging terminal. The alternator is rated at 60 amp output. The relay is controlled by a trunk mounted battery four pole disconnect switch. One of the small poles on the main battery disconnect switch is wired to BAT positive (hot) 3/8 pole on the switch. The relay control wire is wired to the other small pole on the main battery disconnect switch. When the main switch is closed, the relay is energized closing the relay allowing the alternator to charge the battery and run systems. If the engine is running I can now shut off the engine when the main battery disconnect switch is opened it disconnects the large battery cable, and de-energizes the relay at the alternator removing all positive potential from the electrical system. This alows my to keep my ampmeter functional on my original gauge cluster.

Great to save your battery if you have lots of accessories
Used this to save my battery with all of my emergency lights and radios. Hooked up to the ignition and it powers everything on and off with the ignition.

Good Heavy Duty Relay
Used this for a cooling fan relay on an excavator. 40 amp relays would not last. It appears to be well made, and the screw terminals for the high amp connections work far better than the slip on spade connectors.

Handles 40A continuous with no issues.
So far so good..... I’m a firefighter so I need to lockout several accessories. It a little warm to the touch, but I’m thinking that’s because I’m drawing min 30 amps continuous for 2 hours a day or more. No disappointments so far.
