Anyone else's buttpad not drilled properly to fit their Mosin?

I bought three of these. None fit Like I wanted. I think pads are the problem.

Does this go over the metal butt plate or do you remove the butt plate?

Remove the metal butt plate and save it. The same screws in the original metal plate are used to mount the rubber cushion butt plate. Do not be surprised if the holes do not exactly line up.There were millions of these Mosin Nagants made in various models for decades and there is some variation among them.

Would this fit the Chinese type 53?

It would fit. But the fit would not be to good and it would fit fully right on the but stock of the type 53. It was Made only for the M44 Mosin Nagant But Stock.
