Dark steamy and so so good!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐A Dark, arranged Marriage, age gap, Mafia romance!..... Is it getting hot in here or is it just me? Mafia King was nothing short of wickedly twisted, dangerously suspenseful and epically HOTTT!! And I loved every minute of it!Michael and Karma should come with Warning labels. He is dark and dangerous and she is feisty and fierce and a bit…..stabby. Put them together and fires get started and let me tell you I welcomed the burn. Seriously who knew shopping for some fabric could be so damn hot?Jason Clarke and Roxy Isles were utter perfection as Michael and Karma. I think this was my first experience with Roxy Isles narration and thought she was outstanding. From the range of emotions Karma went through from anger, to pain to arousal to indifference she really brought this character to life. And I’m sure anyone who reads my reviews know I’m such a huge fan of Jason Clarke. But I’m still going to fangirl on him in this role. He just plays the perfect dark alpha Mafia boss. That deep growly voice could give a polar bear goosebumps. And then he went and threw in some sexy as sin accents! Daaaamnnn once again he was outstanding!I loved this from beginning to end. If you are a fan of dark, dangerous, suspenseful, steamy romance with brilliant twists and plenty of angst, drama and jaw dropping moments then you need to listen to this one! It left me breathless and on the edge of my seat. And with that ending!! I need to listen to the second book like right now. Highly HIGHLY recommend

Wow
Having read other books from this author didn't prepare me for this series. Michael and Karma are so freaking yummy that I just want more and more and more. Onto the next book about these two.

Mafia King
This is the first book of the Sovranos series, starts with Karma being kidnapped by the Capo AKA Michael Sovrano. She is taken to Sicily where he keeps residence. After coming up with a plan, she is forced to Marry Michael. At her wedding, she wears the most unexpected wedding dress and she gave her husband a little surprise so he wouldn’t underestimate her. There is an interesting dynamic between these two a love-hate relationship but what Michael didn’t expect it was that he had found his match.

Ill give you this, it’s 🌶️🔥
(Certain words have been altered for this public review, these are represented in [brackets].)We start off with Karma enjoying the scenery while on a break from a run. She KNOWS the mafia is out to get her, but apparently doesn’t give two squirts an ‘ish because she purposely slipped her security detail.Michael aka Mika aka Michelangelo aka our mafia guy, sneaks up beside her. They chat it up, talking about poems, and he pulls out some nice cool silver and presses it to her head.Rather than eliminating her, he abducts her, and they wind up smashing.Scenes are done well, and are quite interesting. There’s some mental gymnastics going from both parties, where neither actually says what’s on their mind, but that’s the fun of it all.As for plot, the relationship between Karma and Mika IS the plot. There really isn’t a B plot or some overarching story. Just the two of them playing mind games until they Boink like rabbits.Gripes - Don’t read further if you don’t care for ‘itching. 😉I rented my copy via KU back in July of 2022. Only just now am I getting around to reading it. Disregard the following if a new version, with corrections, has been uploaded since thenEllipses variants all over:Sometimes there’s a space afterwards and the following word is lowercase - as if they trailed off but continued the sentence.Sometimes there’s a space afterwards and the following word is capitalized - to show they trailed off but it’s a new line. But, sometimes it’s mixed up.Then there will be a curveball where it’s space-ellipses-space.Example from Chapter 11:(This is a direct copy/paste from Kindle. I have not removed any sentences between lines.)- There had been enough clothes in the walk-in closet… Most of them seemed new, along with underclothes that were made of the finest laces…and decadently cut. And all the clothes fit me... no doubt about it, they were to my measurements, how the [heck] had he managed that?First use, space with a capitalized word. Okay, cool, trailed off thought to a new thought.Second use, no space. So, trailed off thought that Karma continued.Third use, there’s a space, but no capitalized word.Repeated sections:Middle of Chapter 4, it switches from Michael’s POV to Karma’s. Chapter 5 starts with Karma’s POV…that is an exact copy of the POV from Chapter 4. Literally all of Chapter 5 is a copy/paste from the second part of Chapter 4.This happens again later. Halfway through Chapter 6, it’s switches POVs only to copy/paste that into Chapter 7.Lines also get recycled:These are lines that all pretty much say the same thing. Three of which came from Chapter 26.- A chuckle bubbles up and my entire body shakes.- A giggle bubbles up and I swallow it back.- A chuckle bubbles up and I swallow it down.- A chuckle bubbles up and I stifle it.- I snort, then swallow down the rest of the laugh that bubbles up.On THAT notes, if I factor in all the “bubbles”…- Anger squeezes my guts and fear bubbles up, a tangy, bitter taste on my tongue.- A sob bubbles up from her.- A moan bubbles up and I swallow it back.- I can’t stop the moan that bubbles up my throat.- A groan bubbles up, and I bury my teeth in my lower lip to stop it from escaping.Typos:Chapter 1- One that hints at hidden desires, Heat. Lust.* Either ‘heat’ should be lowercase or a period needs to be after ‘desires’ rather than a comma.Chapter 2- She pales. "You want to…to rob me? I have nothing of consequence,* The ending quote mark is missing.Chapter 8- It’s a hideout, which only our closest famiglia know about, and a few of our associates….* There’s an extra dot in the ellipses.Chapter 14- "I am not letting you go.* Missing end quotesChapter 16- [Heck], if I stay here a second more, I am going to turn her on her back, cover her with my weight, hold her down, and close my mouth over hers, Right before I slide down to rest my head on her creamy thigh as I take my time familiarizing myself with that succulent flesh between her legs.* Besides this being a run-on sentence, the RIGHT between “hers, Right before” is capitalized. Either that was supposed to be a period (not a comma) or it was accidentally capitalized.Chapter 17- “If I were to check between your legs, would I find you wet, Beauty?* Missing ending quote marks.- "[Fudge]." He groans, "F-u-[dge], Beauty. “* The very last quote marks are facing the wrong way in the kindle version.Chapter 18- I lick the [bløød]—her [bløød]—off the grip."* Hey! I found one of the missing end quotes! It was hanging out in this non-speaking section.- "Your father promised you to me in return for his life. I am just making sure you honor the debt. Also"* Comma needed after ALSOChapter 32- "What if all of this is just you trying to pull a fast one on me?* Missing end quote- "So go."I gape at his smirking face.* Space needed between the ending quote and I GAPE.

Dark, disturbing, delicious, and deeply erotic
We first encountered Karma and Michael at the end of book one in the Big Bad Billionaires series, and I had been wondering about her fate ever since. We really didn’t get to know Karma very well in Summer and Sinner’s story, so I’m so grateful we finally got the opportunity. I always love the heroines in these stories, but Karma really takes it to another level. She’s a strong, smart, creative, loving, feisty woman of unfathomable depths. She gives as good as she gets and she never stops fighting. I really admire that. Even after her rough start in life and despite the terrifying circumstances she finds herself in, she’s no one’s victim and no damsel in need of saving. She’s almost the polar opposite of Summer and dark enough for the likes of Michael Byron. This story consumed my waking thoughts and my dreams, leaving me no choice but to devour it quickly. I don’t think it would have been possible to fully contain the enormous personalities of Michael and Karma or the raging inferno ignited by their union into one book. Phenomenal writing, excellent world building, plot twists I never saw coming, and an engaging story I very much look forward to continuing in the next book. A dark masterpiece and the earth-shattering start of another great series!

Good book
This a pretty good book. It has drama and a lot if it. But the chemistry between the couple is something to read.

Mafia King
I really enjoyed this book!It was so much better than the prequel (Mafia Heir)!Michelangelo is the oldest of the brothers - sons of the Don. He needs to marry and produce an heir to have any chance of claiming the Don position once his father steps down.He has had visions/dreams of his perfect woman. When he meets a woman who looks and smells like the woman of his dreams, he decides that he will have her - as her father pledged her to him in lieu of a debt.He now has to convince Karma that she will marry him!A great story with twists and turns, but why oh why do we have to have the dreaded cliff hanger??

The Story jumps straight into the scene. I would have liked a slower start to get into the story. But I like the book

What an Amazing surprising book ! ♥️
OMG ! I'm under the shock !This book has everything I ever wanted to find in a book!Looking for a hot and controlling yet very exciting Alpha? Got one.But the heroine ... Seriously... She's freaking fantastic! She have a strong personality and you're always entertain with her !I love the creating side of the book, because as the heroine make her own clothes, there is a lots of details about clothes in it! Let me tell you that I would like a picture of the wedding dress so much, because this as shut down my mind for good. I was like a sport fan cheering for his favorite team when I read that part !Moreover, the dialogue are amazing, and there's is so much humor in it, I'm never tired of it !This is truly, a MUST read book for me !And right after that review I'm going to start reading the second book !

Muddled
It started great and I was hopeful that the storyline would enthrall me, however I found this book very confusing and irritating at times. The constant psychoanalysis by the two main characters is maddening to the point of wanting to stop reading it. Also I find Karma's character very contradicting to the point that I have ended not liking her very much. I have also got the next book, the Mafia Queen, but if the storyline line and writing style follows the same pattern as this one I will give this series a wide berth.
