The Day Jumoke Found His Name

I sat down to read a page or two thinking I'd save the rest to read with the kids and ended up reading the whole thing ... I will read it to the kids tonight for story time. I really REALLY enjoyed it!!! At first I could picture how beautifully it could have been illustrated - but by the end I got it and think it was a perfect choice to not have a single picture and let the readers generate their own illustrations... The words were their own pictures which is very refreshing in a world that tells kids what to think. I have to say I am so tired of reading the books the kids bring home and think this one should be in every school library out there. Well done!!! And thanks for giving me a book to read to my kids that I actually want to listen too myself.

I love the content of this book. It’s a little smaller than what I thought, but very easy to handle. There are no pictures, but the words are emphasized with large letters and capitals and bold so you can read it with lots of expression. I bought it, because we named our dog Jumoke and I thought it was a really cute name, with a beautiful meaning.

I have always loved Jaiya Johns books. I was over joyed when this kids book was out. Oh! I love the way it is written. As I am reading it to my 3 year old, she is just quite listening to it. Such beautiful beautiful book. Must buy for a addition to kids library. No picture but the words he arranged it in a way you can keep your kids hooked and teach the words. I love the way the word change the size and is arranged. Love it :D
