I use a lot of ice during the spring and summer months for drinks. I have a freezer with an ice maker but it cannot keep up to a family of five using ice all the time so I purchased this ice maker to compliment it. It works great. Running it for one day I can refill the whole ice basin and it will last at least 3 days before I need to run it again. It produces ice quickly, usually within the first 8 minutes and it needs to be emptied after about an hour. It has safety features that shut off if the ice bin is full or you run out of water. It saves me at least $3 every 3 days to put more ice in my freezer. Over the course of a few months it has paid for itself. Definitely a good product.

I bought this on a whim over the summer, and really couldn't be happier. The ice this machine makes is awesome -- nice and soft (without melting too quick), and because of the shape, makes pleasing 'plop' noises when you pour it into a drink. (It's the little things in life, you know?) My whole family and I have migrated almost entirely to using this ice instead of from the freezer ice maker.The machine is a little loud, but since it's in the kitchen it's no bother for us. Every once in awhile we have to cycle the controls off and on to restart the ice making, but again, no bother -- it takes about 1.5 seconds. The ice happens FAST, less than 10 minutes per cycle. The unit is somewhat sizable... about the size of a medium-to-large bread maker. I'm not sure there's any way around that, but check dimensions before committing to dedicating the counter space.Overall, a definite win in this household.

I rarely if ever write a review but this product has prompted me to communicate my great dissatisfaction. I'm crazy busy all the time at work and I love these little ice machines because I love ice. I've been buying them for about 10 years and they typically last anywhere from two to four years and they're pretty much all the same. Except for this product! I really regret purchasing this machine for a number of reasons. Number one it does not hold very much water at all in the reservoir so I have to continually fill it. Number two and the main reason I'm writing this review is because it keeps turning off and every time I go to get some ice there is none. So when I go into my office every day, which is where I keep it, I have to make sure it's on or I won't have any ice when I need it. None of the other machines I have ever used had this problem so I advise you to get another machine. Between the small water reserve and the glitchiness of it it's just a big time waster and a pain. I can't wait for it to break so I can get a new one of a different brand.update: 3/27/24. This machine will turn itself OFF when the water is low. That is why when I go to get ice there is none and I have to refil the water resovior and wait. Today it just stopped working after only 2 1/2 years and now I am so happy that I get to buy a new one. Please avoid is my best advice

great ice great performance ...for about 18 months ..then it just quit...no place will repair it

I hope I’m not jinxing the machine, but I’m so pleased with it. We’ve been using it daily for several weeks and couldn’t be happier. It was delivered a day before the heat really got underway and it hasn’t had any trouble keeping the two of us in ice. Our refrigerator/freezer had a hard time supplying us with enough ice, so this was a blessing. I understand some people have had trouble with the “fill water “ light, but I read you should use tap water so we haven’t had any issues. If it does light up, I just restart it and it starts right up making the ice. My only complaint is I have caught my cat sitting on it, I guess to cool herself? She is a strange one! I hope it keeps working as well as it has for a long time. I’ll update as needed.

So far, works as advertised! Quick to make ice. Not much noise. Very Happy!!Just a note though. As pointed out previously by another reviewer, you CANNOT used distilled water or the machine will constantly give you an "add water" message. It does not sense when it is filled with distilled water. You need to use tap water. Since I live in an area with "hard" water, (and the associated cleaning problems), I automatically used distilled water (even though the instruction manual SAYS NOT TO - I assumed it to be a misprint!). Luckily, I read the Amazon reviews before sending it back.

Made ice fast. Noisy. Extremely disappointed it lasted only a year with basic individual use. This fact alone, I do not and would not recommend to anyone to buy this machine. A waste of money.

Thus far, I have nothing bad to say about this unit. It is smaller, quieter and more productive than the last one which gave me three and a half years.I train retrievers in NC, so I use a lot of ice. I used to buy the 20# bags at Sam's, but now I can buy 6 gallons of water for near the price of one bag of ice.I completely recommend this particular icemaker.
