Where have you been all my life?
I purchased this vest as part of an expedition to Patagonia. I don’t know why I haven’t owned a heated vest my entire life! With three levels of heat, I could adjust the vast depending on whether conditions, and with gloves, the lighted button which indicates heating level was easy to operate. I would recommend taking an extra battery pack, as the vest on high does not last a whole day. I would also recommend paying attention to the heated zones on the product purchase. As indicated, mine had heat on the back only, this was more than enough to keep me warm. Heated zones on the front are options on other products.

Works like a champ.
I charged up the vest and fired it up. I am impressed with the heat this vest puts out. I can definitely tell when I kick it on. The warmup phase (right after you turn it on) kicks in the heat quick.I get about 4 hours of heat on high. Which is pretty good, but I need a little bit more time than that so I am using a second battery pack.I didn't notice the USB battery pack when ordering, but realized when I received it that it was just a regular battery pack and I had another. The second battery pack works just fine with this vest.

Works ok for a few hours
I’m super cold natured so I love the idea of a heated vest! I got this one because I hate feeling weighted down by my clothing. This vest should have been a win/win. But I’m conflicted about this vest. On one hand, I really like it. It’s comfortable, it’s not bulky, and it heats well. On the other hand, it’s frustrating. To wear it all day, I have to charge the battery 3 or 4 times during the day. Am I running it on high? Beats me. I can easily tell if it’s turned on but I cannot easily tell what setting I have it on. The controls are not intuitive. So this vest is both fabulous and frustrating.I would love to just get more batteries but my husband (who has a degree in electrical engineering, and works in industrial control systems) says the battery is “kinda funky” and he’s not sure how to find extras for me. I’m used to him solving these types of issues for me and the fact the he’s a bit baffled over this one frustrates me. He’s so baffled by this battery, he’s seriously contemplating just buying me a much more expensive heated vest.So is it great, yup. Is it not great, also yup!

Fast Heating, Good Battery Life
I have owned my PROSmart heated vest for two weeks now, and I am very happy I got it. As I get older, being warm and comfortable wherever I go becomes very important to me. This vest is soft, warm and comfortable even without the power turned on. But when the outside temperature starts to drop, I don't have to worry. I find that even on cool days I can wear a t-shirt and be comfortable at the medium power level. Of course, if I wore the vest inside a windbreaker or other outer garment, I could easily get away with low power. The battery gives me several hours of heat: the lower the setting, the longer the battery will last. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how long the battery will last because I go back and forth between the power levels depending on what I need at the time. And sometimes I turn off the vest entirely because the fleece keeps me warm all by itself.Yes, there are four heating elements as the illustration shows, but my favorite is in the collar. It feels so good when I first turn on the vest, and that warm radiant energy wraps around my neck. The vest has three zippered, outer-pockets for your "stuff," and one inner-pocket designed to house the battery. The battery isn't very heavy, by the way. The power button is located on the inside-left, just below the collar. The battery connects to the vest via USB. It can be charged via the included USB cable, or using the 110 Volt power plug adapter. The battery can also be used to charge your phone or tablet. However, the battery is not designed to receive a charge while there is a load on it. In other words, you have to either be charging the battery or powering something with the battery, but you can't do both at the same time. The current PROSmart battery has a "sleep" state it will eventually fall into when there is no load on it. To wake it from this "sleep" state, you have to shake it vigorously (like you're shaking a can of spray paint) for about 5 seconds before connecting it to the vest. Once connected, just press and hold the vest's power button. The edges of the button will intermittently flash red for one to three seconds while you're pressing it. Then the entire button will light brightly. At this time you can stop pressing the button (the vest is now on). The button will continue flashing bright red for 5 minutes. You don't have to wait the entire 5 minutes before changing the power level. As soon as the button begins flashing bright red, you can release and press again to cycle through the different power levels. When I bought my vest in early January 2020, the instructions didn't say anything about the "shake-and-wake" procedure. But I simply e-mailed PROSmart who returned my e-mail within an hour or two, and they helped me troubleshoot the problem pretty quickly. They were very happy to answer my questions, and responded quickly every time. They wanted my future business, and it showed. There are many brands of heating vests on the market, but this one had, in my opinion, the best combination of good reviews, reasonable price, and excellent customer service. Additionally, this vest can be powered by any number of aftermarket batteries as long as they are rated for output at 5V, 3 Amps, and input at 5V, 2 Amps. I own an Anker Power Core 26800 that works just fine. It's way to big and heavy to fit inside the vest's battery pocket, but it will definitely work.

Best value heated vest.
This is my second prosmart vest. The fact that is comes with a usb pack and is compatible with every other usb a battery makes this a tremendous value. Last year I bought a 2xl because the ad said they run small. This year I bought an xl because the 2xl was too big. I find myself fitting in larges but usually buying xl in most clothing. Any heated vest should be just over your base layer. I find these vests so comfy that I often wear them all day. I drive an older car so this makes me feel almost like I have a heated seat that I get to take with me. I work all day outside on wind turbines. Though I can’t wear this for electrical work due to it’s synthetic fibers, I climb in it and work most of the day in it. Even wearing it under my harness. I recommend it because it seeming has not broken down at all over a year of me wearing it almost every day of the winter.

Worth the price
Heats up very fast and is very warm. I’m 5’6 and 133 lbs and it is not too bulky. I use it while I run and it does not get in the way. It is easy to adjust the temp while I run, without slowing me down.

Vest may not last as long as I'd hoped
This was a Christmas gift for my husband. He usually fits between a medium and large size. Bought it in a large, but in hindsight could have sized down to medium so the heating units fit more closely to his body. The vest is easy to charge, lightweight and comfortable and the gray/blue vest has heating units where I wanted them. It works great, so much so that my husband has said it makes him uncomfortably hot when it's cranked up at its highest setting. In my mind, it's better to be too hot than not hot enough for a heated vest, but that's just me.Unfortunately, the bottom of the vest is already starting to fray in some spots even though it's only been worn about a dozen times and it hasn't even been washed. I'm sure he'll wear it again this coming winter since it does work great, but don't think the vest will last as long as I'd hoped. Will cut the frayed ends and possibly do some DIY to salvage it when the vest eventually comes apart. It work great but 2 stars off for workmanship quality. Will update and dock another star if it doesn't survive a wash.

Gilet utilissimo

Comfortable and well built!
I've had this vest for several weeks now, and I continue to be impressed by it. I find that it certainly appears to be a quality product which is comfortable to wear, and (I'm told) looks great. In fact, I'm wearing it on a daily basis now.I'm slightly disappointed that the battery doesn't last longer, but it generally lasts somewhere around 4 to 5 hours on medium and takes roughly the same time to recharge.I even bought a second vest.
