Fun Revisit of Beloved Characters
Artwork is great, and characters stay true to form. Great for reading to kids as you can do many of the different voices easily with the dialog that is written. A visit back in the Labyrinth! Thank You!

"At Least the Jokes Are Free..."
Illustrator Cory Godbey has worked on two Jim Henson picture books, each one based on a film: “Labyrinth” and “The Dark Crystal.” Perhaps best known for his fairy tale based work (which include collaborations with Disney) he’s an excellent fit for this franchise, capturing the whimsy of the original material – but also a little thread of its darkness.“Labyrinth Tales” is set in the same labyrinth of the famous 1986 film, featuring several of its characters and iconic locations. There are three stories in all, each accompanied by illustrations that capture the film’s tone and visual style (though there’s more of Godbey than Brian Froud, the original conceptual artist). In “Sir Didymus’ Grand Day”, the titular fox narrates the events of his day through diary entries – though his recollections don’t quite match up with the story told through the illustrations (his idea of a “frank and open exchange of ideas and culture” with the goblins is him charging them on the back of his dog).“Wisdom and Idioms” is an exchange between the Wiseman and his bird-hat, the former trying to formulate a witty joke in the face of the latter’s commentary on Sir Didymus’s chase of a Firey head. Finally, “Stone Cold” has Ludo struggling with a head cold – which naturally effects his ability to call the rocks. He causes no small amount of chaos as he goes in search of a cure, but finds comfort in a hot cup of tea from an unexpected source.Fans of the film will be glad to know the book features several minor characters from the film: not just Hoggle, Didymus and Ludo, but also the Worm, the Four Guards, and the Junk Lady (though she’s considerably more benevolent here). There’s no Sarah or Jareth though, unless you count the occasional appearance of a snowy white owl. There are also plenty of cute Easter eggs, such as the names on the spines of the books Didymus sits on, or the return of Hoggle's fairy repellent spray. There are tons of lovely details here, though none of the illustrations really capture the size or scope of its setting. If I have one other complaint, it’s that this is a very slight volume. If you’re in search of “Labyrinth” content, this will barely whet your appetite before it’s over. I couldn’t help but wish for more.

Labyrinth Fans Will Love It
I am a huge Labyrinth fan so when I saw this cute looking book being published, I immediately pre-ordered it.Plot:The story is divided into three parts where different characters have adventures and meet up with other characters. I think my favorite was Ludo's though they were all cute.Setting:I adore the Labyrinth and the setting looks just like the movie in illustrated form.Characters:I pretty much love all of the characters from Labyrinth and they were pretty true to form in this book. The highlight was seeing the worm featured in two of the stories because he's my favorite. The junk woman is also in one of them which was awesome because I've always had a soft spot for her.Relationships:There really isn't enough story for any new relationships to really make an impact but I did like how major characters (Ludo, Sir Didymus, Hoggle) interacted with some of the classic but lesser focus characters.Writing/Voice:The writing fit the characters and story.Illustrations:The illustrations are stunning. My dad, who has never seen Labyrinth, actually saw the book and said it reminded him of The Dark Crystal, which he has seen. He seemed pretty interested just by looking at the art.Ending:The ending is kinda sad but adorable at the same time. It fit the characters and story well.Overall, loved it. Labyrinth fans will adore it and I could see kids being enchanted as well. Would be a great way to introduce little ones to the world of the Labyrinth!

Like probably almost every person that bought this book
The main reason for this purchase was nostalgia. Like probably almost every person that bought this book, Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies of all time and when I heard of all the books coming out to celebrate its thirtieth anniversary, I knew I had to scoop up each one. With that being said, the book itself was simple and cute. I expected more in length but for the price, it's okay. It's a collectors item and something I plan to share with my niece and other little ones. It could have been better but being Labyrinth trumps all.

great art but a bit on the short side
Amazing art, This book does give compelling stories in it but also there only around 3 of them and each of them are rather short stories.i suppose with this book your paying more for the art rather then the stories which in that case it is defiantly worth it

Beautiful artwork, cute stories
First thing, this book has 3 short stories, suitable for bed time reading to kids. The stories are not really related to the movie but I did not expect that. It is cute, regardless of that fact. I bought this and the Dark Crystal one for my niece for her baby shower as she is a HUGE Labyrinth/Dark Crystal fan.

a bit disappointed - waited for months for delivery and then when it finally came there are about 5 words in the whole book. It's less Labyrinth tales, more Labyrinth illustrations. The illustrations are beautiful - but it's not really described very well

but isn't that part of the fun with books like this
was a present for my sister as she grow up with the movie, now she has her own kids she uses it for bed time story's . must admit she has to use her imagination as there isnt many words to the story in the book, but isn't that part of the fun with books like this ,keeps the kids imagination working. Brilliant picture book

Nice artwork. Story and text is a bit thin
Nice artwork. Story and text is a bit thin. If you are a fan of the film and love the designs then you should get it, but when it goes on sale. I think it's worth £6 and not £13. Is more of a young learner book too than for adults in general.

Great art work but not what i thought it would be. Probably my own fault for not reading into in a bit more but I thought it would be longer and a more in depth tale.
