The ends of the bristles are polished and that’s what makes a huge difference. Fluffier fluff drying results in shorter amount of time. On the softer side but sturdy enough for dematting. Pricier but worth it. With proper care it lasts for years, and that’s using it every day.

This is a wonderful brush - Well made, love the wooden handle and the bit of curve. It went through standard poodle hair without causing pain (for them or for my arthritis) and they look gorgeous! I am buying a larger size too. So many of the mass market brushes have tines that are too flimsy or soft. This is not that. I LOVE this brush.
