Like playing a game with an IMAX screen.
First I've been looking at this screen since the original G9 came out. After hearing about all the problems and not having the best graphics card I decided to put it on hold. Then the neo came out and again my interest was piqued. But at the eye watering greater than 2000 price I put it on the backburner. Finally Prime day comes along and I now have a 3080ti so I decided to pull the trigger. I am glad I did. My first thought upon unboxing was honestly mild buyers remorse and guilt. This thing is huge, like seriously enormous. I watched every video possible and nothing does it justice like seeing it in person. I had a 34" Alienware before and they can't even be slightly compared. However, after playing games with it and working on it I can honestly say it's incredible. I came to the conclusion one evening after testing MW, Apex, Far cry and a few others that I'm now playing games on an IMAX screen. As far as some games that don't support 32:9 aspect, it DOES get a little stretched on the sides, but I've found that if you play with the FOV in-game, you can minimize the problem. You also get used to whatever remains. First night I installed it, I inspected it closely and did a dead pixel test and luckily my unit is fine. I haven't noticed any flickering issues, and my unit came with up-to-date firmware saving me the hassle. HDR also works well, though I suspect I'll be updating my system to WIN11 soon for better implementation. ***One serious problem I had was that when initially starting games, sometimes the display port would say no signal detected and the monitor would go into standby. I had to hard restart my computer to get the picture back. Some wonderful redditor however made this suggestion and I hope it helps someone else out if they have this issue (See below) IN NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL ---> "Adjust Desktop Size and Position" ---> check "NO SCALING". This instantly solved my problem. I'm unsure if it's because I have other monitors attached or what but I almost returned it for this issue. Note on graphics card: As mentioned I have a 3080ti. I honestly would not have picked this monitor up without a top end graphics card, because if you do, you will not be able to fully utilize it's capabilities. Even with my 3080ti I am not able on ultra graphics to get anywhere near a 240hz refresh rate, mostly I get below 100 unless I turn settings down. However thanks to DLSS now it can help those with a lesser card. I would not do it unless you have a 3070 or higher though if you really want the best out of your purchase. With a few settings turned down and DLSS implemented where possible, I'm getting about 130-170hz on most games now. Overall, I'm stoked, and really happy that I was patient to put my rig spec together first. Doing so netted me the newer version of this monitor at a *discounted* $1499 price that I'm ok with for the quality. I've been gaming for a long time, and have heard reviewers say that this is as close to VR as you get without having a VR headset. I have a VR headset and can confirm, it's pretty epic. Haven't had it too long yet but if any issues arise I will update this review. Overall, very satisfied and blown away. Hope this helped you :)

Great monitors!!!
These are the most beautiful monitors I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy. These have two different modes you can use them in. The first I set them in was the obvious, both monitors in full screen. One input to each monitor on display port connection. Obviously best performance if you can run them both stable at 240Hz. While not G-sync certified (my system runs RTX3080 GPU), with vrr enabled the performance is fantastic inspire of that. The games I played in this configuration looked and performed beautifully. Second, two inputs per monitor, one DP, one HDMI. First, you have to go into monitor settings, drop refresh to 120Hz and enable picture by picture. Now the game I play that makes this desirable, outside of the productivity aspect for a network engineer, isn’t really resource intensive, it gives you the ability to use each monitor as two monitors in a16:9 aspect ratio. The reason you have to stop the refresh rate is because one of the connections is HDMI (limited to 120Hz) and these will not run at dissimilar refresh rates per connection. That said, if you had any instability at 240Hz this will remove that depending on your GPU. Still stellar performance and beautiful picture and the game I used this for (Eve online) was absolutely stunning and immersive even running 4 different accounts at one time at Max graphics settings for this game which is limited in the game client at 100Hz. Now in addition to the gaming perspective, if you are looking at this display from a productivity perspective like I do, you will love the two input configuration because the PBP mode allows you to use one monitor like it is two separate physical monitors. So overall, if you’re the high end of average gamers and you’re not trying to see how much you can put on these before you melt your GPU, you will love this monitor. They’re great fun to play on and incredibly immersive. Add a wicked sound system to it like a high end Sound Blaster sound card and Logitech Z920 speaker system and you have great Dolby and DTS digital audio system to truly immerse yourself in your favorite game environment. Enjoy!!! I absolutely love these displays!!!!

Just plain bad. Constant popping sounds! Really cool panel with bad engineering/firmware decisions.
I'm using a Neo G9 49 inch quantum mini led, I've had this one for 6 months, as of one month ago 2/1/2024 the firmware is up to date. I have been through 3 of theses monitors as the first 2 had the same problems of my 3rd but did them worse. It is very clearly market as a gaming monitor, the problem is the curve is odd and the freesync/g-sync (VRR) is awful. As a productivity monitor the curve feels odd, but ok. The HDR is terrible(might just be windows) and the colors a bit off so it's not a great reference for photo/video work. The SDR is much better and pretty bright, but then you can really only use it for SDR content. DO NOT USE THIS ON A RECORDING PC, thermal expansion popping sounds will be a nightmare. First the freesync/g-sync (VRR). Its bad, it does technically work BUT when the fps drops much below 70 for me I get a very muted flicker/dimming that happens at a about 3 to 5 flickers a second. This is more than enough to be a very bad trigger for me with migraines and can even set off a tiny bit of motion sickness depend on the frequency of the dimming and game. Second "thermal expansion" popping. People like to say this is from the monitor heating up and cooling down, mostly based on brightness and refresh rate. I have no doubt that's what causes the sound but I have never had any other monitor make sounds liker this! Design better! This is the main reason I returned the first 2 they would "pop/click" from the left side of the screen every 10 seconds or so. I tried lowering the refresh to 120, tried turning off HDR, tried turning the brightness down, made sure there wasn't any sunlight heating up the screen and air flow was good. If I did ALL of those things it would just make the pops happen every minute or so instead. The third monitor would only pop once or twice about 5 minutes after being first turned on and that was it, so I thought I was good, minor annoyance I have to wait for thew warm up but doable!...nope, after about 4 months its now popping about every 20 seconds. If you have a good mic depending on the pickup pattern(omni, super cardioid) it will pick up the sound and raise the sound floor of your recording space. For a reference I would put it at about 1.5 to 2 times the sound level of a stock clicky keyboard(blue mechanical switches). I can actually hear it while watching talking style youtube videos with open back headphones. Third, the HDR, I've found it looks pretty good in games with HDR set to dynamic. If it wasn't for the VRR problems this would be a good implementation of HDR for games even if the colors are a bit off(this is after a calibration). Standard HDR, what I would use for any photo editing or video work, is very bad. the brightness is low, edges blur a bit, every thing looks a touch washed out. Again this might be a windows thing, but I've seen and used other LED monitors that do it much much better. Last, the curve. Is this a gaming monitor or a productivity one? This bit has mostly subject with some objective things. Its a 1000R curve which would be great for gaming(I personally like 800R) but! It's only 1000R at the center third of the screen. The left and right thirds of the screen are nearly flat splitting the screen equally Left|Center|Right and completely flat for the left and right 1/4's of the screen if you look at it as L|C|C|R division. This curve style is not a bad idea for a productivity monitor, but then you'd only want a 1800R curve for the center section, as you'd want the 2 sides of the screen to be flat so as to not warp the view of the image compared to how a flat screen would see it. Minor annoyances. Coming from an LG ultra wide, the menus seem to be laid out a bit odd, and don't give me nearly as much control over the settings with HDR, for SDR I get about the same control as the LG, but much harder to get to, everything important is buried in the osd menu. Why the hell is there no on screen fps counter, again this is marketed as gaming monitor, I like to use them to make sure the monitor is actually doing VRR right! and it is normally more accurate then using a software solution. The monitor is plugged into my comps usb but there's is no software to adjust settings or mess with calibration? Also you HAVE TO update firmware with a usb flash drive. What's the point of the driver and software downloads? Seems like an easy addition. I have had other much cheaper monitors that can do this, that's why this bugs me so much, for the price they msrp'ed these at, some extra usable features should be there! And no the light core does not count, that's just a rgb/gamer markup.

Best high-end LCD gaming monitor available right now
The HDR has some issues, and the picture quality of an LCD can't really compete with OLED, but I am overall happy with this purchase. It's fast, it's huge, it's very immersive, and the picture quality is good enough for a high end display... I'd say it's worse than my LG C9 was, but as good or better than my Samsung Q90T. If you can handle the fact that this price point isn't bringing OLED-level picture quality in HDR, it's a great screen. The price is definitely an early adopter tax, though. A lot of people would probably be better served saving some money and going with a 48" OLED. For me personally, after using an OLED for 2 years, I got tired of worrying about and managing burn-in, so I'm happy with this. ---October 7, 2021 EDIT--- Firmware 1007.3 has fixed all the HDR issues. The display is now working more or less perfectly for me. I do have one single dead pixel, but it's not noticeable in real use. This is the best LCD gaming monitor on the market, hands down, and with this new firmware I would argue the price is justified. With the HDR fixed, it looks about as close to OLED picture quality as I expect LCDs can get.

Good, but with some annoyance
Bought mine new when it was on sale for $1449.99. Took longer than I thought to arrive, around 2 weeks with Prime. Overall good gaming monitor, but had a few annoyances. Everything looked good when I opened it, after turning it on it wouldn’t show an image when I connected my Display port. After tinkering with it, I saw that it was defaulted to the HDMI port, I made the Display port the default and it worked. Annoying because monitors usually auto pick up the port that’s connected. Had 2 dead pixels, both on the far left end; one near the top, the other near the bottom. I was going to return it, but also read reviews that buyers had to pay for return shipping $40+. I ended up chatting with an Amazon. The rep offered me a discount to keep the monitor, which I accepted. The dead pixels are in an area that I technically won’t notice, and I saved a good amount of money. The last annoyance, and I hope this does not worsen. A few sections of the monitor sometimes flicker, showing lines when I turn it on, mostly the left side. I’ll update this review if it gets worse. Other than that, the monitor plays games nicely, runs at 240 hz with my RTX 3080. I’ve been using Microsoft Power Toys utilities (FancyZones) to better use the Ultra Wide.

Awesome Monitor
Box came in perfect condition. Monitor worked right out of the box, firmware was current also. No need to update. No issues. This is not 4K (2160p). It is a 2K (1440p) monitor You do not realize how cheap regular monitors are until after you see this monitor in action. Everything is bright and crisp. Beautiful picture quality. I've only had the display for a few days now. but I love it! If you have the means , I highly recommend this monitor. Update, 2 weeks and the screen went black. I have decided to go with Samsung for the warranty repair. Instead of returning it to Amazon. I still recommend this monitor. For me there is no better choice but to keep it. I still trust Samsung on their Monitors and TVs. I'm disappointed though. Update. I still like my monitor but it stopped working again. Im glad I bought the Protection Plan. What ever you do do not discard the box. You will need it ship it to Asurion to get it repaired. It was pretty much painless to send in for repair, it took 10 days. I really like my monitor but get the Protection plan.

I tried liking it..
I was really excited but feel a little disappointed. Just to make it quick I found like a dead pixel luckily it’s like at the bottom of the screen on the side so I won’t notice it but for over two thousand I expected it to be flawless with maybe one issue being like a ui glitch not dead pixels overall it’s really good and I haven’t gamed on it much so I’m excited for that.. edit, I’ve been using it more and it’s amazing when gaming I feel really immersed but a few things first the blooming is kinda crazy at certain angles but when looking directly at the monitor you can’t really see it. Second I found like what seems like a stuck pixel that’s really hard to see but doesn’t go away, I got an actual stuck pixel like two days after having it but I was able to get rid of it but not this half stuck pixel. Over all games look amazing and you’d feel immersed but if I see more dead pixels or constantly keep getting stuck pixels or/and more glitches than for what I paid 2k shouldn’t be acceptable Ok it’s been about a month and the stuck pixel which is red keeps re appearing, it already had a semi stuck or dead pixel in the lower part kinda in the middle of the screen but really only visible on bright colors and if you really look for it. Also in the corner of the monitor there’s like a little gap or something where I can see light coming out. And for the backlight I have lights in my room for some reason makes the light bleed look worse than what it really is but this monitor has that weird effect where if you look at it at certain angles it looks weird like reflective or something also for the blooming is enhanced when viewed at an angle and you can see these lines across the screen in bright/white areas like when in google search or any website that’s basically all white you see it more when in motion. I feel like I’m spending more time fixing it and doing research to fix it and avoid these problems or searching up if it’s normal than actually enjoying it. like the stuck pixel I get every now and then is annoying especially when it’s a red bright pixel mostly in the middle of the screen and very noticeable in dark areas/scenes I’m the kind a guy that pays attention to these little details and I have like slight ocd so it really bothers me seeing a red pixel when I game.. I really like this monitor picture looks good especially in game, even do hdr is kinda broken at times outside of gaming it works only you have all your drivers and software up to date. The dead pixel is a hard pill to swallow for me at this rate I feel like the monitor is gonna get worse with more defects.. I have like about a month left until I can return it so I’m going to test more but for 2k it’s not worth it you feel like a beta tester rather than a consumer. I’m returning it.. for over 2k not worth it, I think this monitor should be priced for at lease a thousand less because there’s too many defects from dead pixels, semi dead pixels and stuck pixels also backlight bleed random flickering visible horizontal lines in bright settings, another thing hdr is still broken I found out no monitor truly supports hdr just marketing to sale. Pros would be that the picture quality is amazing colors pop. like I really liked this monitor it honestly hurt me to make the decision to return it but for the price it’s just not worth it And I feel like the extra wide is kinda dumb because in most if not all games that extra wide is stretched looking so maybe 21:9 is the better aspect ratio because for me games looked too short and obviously really wide kinda throws you off when you take a step back and look at the monitor while gaming.. I’m getting acer’s predator 38 ultra wide hopefully the extra height will be better
