I first experienced Blue Bottle at one of their physical locations in Chicago, and after such a great in-store experience, I decided to order this 12-ounce bag of their Balanced Medium Roast. The quality is outstanding. You can tell these are high-grade, organic beans; the roast is incredibly consistent, and the flavor profile is smooth and perfectly balanced. While Blue Bottle is certainly not cheap, you truly get what you pay for here. When you factor in the freshness and the premium sourcing, the price is very fair for this level of specialty coffee. If you appreciate a clean, professional-grade cup of coffee at home, this is worth every penny.

My socks were knocked completely off. Hands down the best coffee I have tasted this year. Subtle flavors dance around your tongue while the beautiful aroma fills your senses. I chose balanced and I am ever so glad. It took me a minute to figure out the proper amount of beans to grind for my French Press and when I did I almost did the Curly shuffle. Try it

Pleasantly surprised. The roast level was truly medium. For the price, the coffee beans were aromatic and produced a very enjoyable cup of espresso. Wish they would put a 'Roasted On' date so that we know when the coffee was roasted.

This coffee is so smooth and delicious! It is also such a good price for the quality. When we are lazy and don’t want to go to the store to buy it, I make a quick purchase on Amazon and we are always so impressed with the taste.

This coffee is so good I wanted to throw my Starbucks Pikes Peak in the trash. This coffee is so good you'll wish morning came twice a day.

I purchased a bag of the "Balanced" roast which is said to be medium/light. The flavor was more medium/dark. I don't like dark roasted coffee, so this was kind of a letdown. I didn't think to save the bag to check the date, but the coffee also tastes bitter and stale to me. The beans themselves seem to be of questionable quality, as there are many broken pieces in the bag. Maybe I got the bottom of the batch. This is not the worst coffee I've tasted, but it most certainly is the the best. I really hate being wasteful, but I am literally having a difficult time finishing the bag. I'm considering dumping the rest and moving on to my preferred brand, which costs about the same. It is rare that I write a bad review, but I feel this needed to be said.
