First and foremost -- they work for me. I have been spending a lot of time this winter standing in a garage with a concrete floor, and although it is a heated space the heat is nominal and the floor is one huge slab of COLD. I tend to be comfortable enough in general but my feet get cold pretty quickly and stay that way. I don't want to wear heavy insulated boots, and insulated socks didn't help. These do. Put simply -- my feet aren't cold anymore. I can't say that they feel extra warm, just normally warm, certainly warm enough to stand on that floor all day long. The inserts do feel lumpy under my foot so I don't know how much fun it would be to go on a hike. And I would like more focus on my toes whereas these favor the arch more. That's why 4 stars instead of 5. All in all I am very satisfied.

I always use these when skiing! My feet usually freeze and these definitely help keep them warm. Much better than the toe warmers. Glad to have found a bulk pkg, they are getting harder to find in stores!One set will last me an entire ski session of 4 hours or so. Once attached to my sock and my foot is in my ski boot, I'm good to go and only know I have them on because my feet are warm! These are definitely a ski day savior for me and my family.
