Q: Does the glue chip off wall paint when removed? I live in a rental and would absolutely hate to see the panels come off the wall and peeling the paint

Yes unfortunately paint will peel if not painted correctly. However, I have used painters tape between the 3M tape and painted wall. Makes it stuck on the wall and safe to peel later when moving out.

Q: Does the entire wall need to be covered or does a section do just fine?

Dear buyer, thank you for your question It depends on the noise around you. If the noise is unbearable, covering the entire wall is the best.If you're not planning to do a whole wall，these also work best when they are side by side, and not spaced out.They will absorb sound to some extent,the acoustic panels won't eliminate the noise completely.

Q: How would these hold up on a bathroom wall?

Not well. I do like the panels, they do a great job of absorbing sound and look great, however they are very porous so I think in a humid place like a bathroom they'd be very likely to collect moisture and develop mold.
