Simply the best
I have written reviews for his other books and must say that each and every one is amazing. I just love his work and the way he creates a photograph, composition, and work in the darkroom. Studying his work is the best lesson for any photographer out there. You can clearly see how he works the composition to perfection, taking his time to ensure every element is just perfect. I have been a photographer for 25+ years and find myself learning a tremendous amount from his photographs. I highly recommend anyone purchase his books. You will not be disappointed. The hardbound books are well made and the quality of the paper is fantastic. Plus you really get a lot for your money. There is a vast amount of pages and photographs to see. Very well done books. Congrats to Michael Kenna and the publisher. Lastly, I just want to say.... support our photographers. If you want to continue to see this level of work being done then show your support by purchasing one of their books. As a fellow photographer and am constantly buying others books. Photographers work their butt's off in the field and endure many challenging conditions to bring this work to you. Anyway, this is a fantastic book and well worth the small price.

A nice collection, but I might recommend another of his works first.
While this book is well done and presented - and Michael's work is so refreshing in it's composure and tonality - I received two other books for Christmas - Forms of Japan and 20 Year Retrospective (published 8 years prior to this?). If you're new to his work or looking for a best representation of his work, the 20 Year Retrospective would be my recommendation. The Forms of Japan is a nice deep dive into his work in one region. This book, however, - as well presented as it is - seems redundant to his 20 Year Retrospective and I found much of the same works in each.

Images of the Seventh Day- Kenna
An eclectic mix of beautiful black-and-white photography. The printing is very good in this edition. This book has whet my appetite for more of his work. I highly recommend.

Michael Kenna
If as the old adage goes 99% of all photgraphs have been taken in the last 5 years then be grateful for artists like Michael Kenna. They are a dying breed.Michael kenna is without doubt one of the worlds finest "landscape" photographers and his work never ceases to astonish me.Indeed I attended the same college in London as he did ,but some years later when "landscape" and "beauty" in Photography was considered Patriarchial by the radical feminist deconstructualists who had taken over the cirriculum back in the dark days of the 1980's. Yes there have been many imitators of his work but the sheer volume and consistency and his ability to make us see in a completely different way is what makes him stand head and shoulders above the rest. This book is the first of his work which I have bought, in fact the first book of Photographs I have bought in over 20 years. It will take it's place alongside other great Books by Fay Godwin and John Davies, two other photographers who I admire. This book of Michael kennas has reminded me what a terrible cul de sac Digital photography has lead us into with the Camera Industry obsession with mega pixels and sensor formats. At the end of the day that is just all a load of old C***.The Print at the end of the process is what matters. Photography is primarily about light and Michael Kenna is a master. Shooting with a Hasselblad on 120 B&W Analogue .Interestingly he said in a recent Video interview that (paraphrased/probably misquoted) "you can't do this sort of photography at the weekend, it takes hard work" I think that is the key , a lifetimes dedication to a subject in the search of beauty. Buy this book and spend a lifetime contemplating each image. highly recommended Excellent

I'm very happy I bought it
My first Michael Kenna book after having viewed his images online. I'm very happy I bought it, so much so that I ordered Forms of Japan about two weeks later. I can wholeheartedly recommend that book too!

Does Kenna needs review?
If you are looking for some retrospective of his work, this might be it. If you own more than two of his other books, you don't need it.

Poor reproduction
The book arrived promptly and in good condition but when I looked at the book I was a little disappointed. Although he is without doubt a fine photographer the quality of the printing and reproduction was certainly not up to the standard I was expecting.

Images of the Seventh Day

Der Band is hochwertig gemacht.

Einfach toll.
