Not really for a smaller child. Pre-teen would have been more appropriate.
Grand daughter loves it in her room. It is just a little stiff for her to sit on, perfect for her mom and left dad sitting on the floor. Reminds me of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears Story.

great for trouble getting out of the chair for older folks
bought this for my Mom who is having trouble getting in and out of seating. Springs you right back up out of your chair. Great addition to her patio. Caution: It's pretty comfy.... you may not WANT to get up.
