Magpul Hunter 700L Remington 700 Long Action Stock, Black

I ordered the Long Action version to replace the stock on a Remington 700 ADL in 300 WinMag. I coupled it with the Magpul LA Magnum magwell and it dropped right in. I have the sporter profile barrel and there is a whole lot of room between the stock and the barrel, but due to the stock's profile, I would not say it detracts from the overall look. Plenty of room to change it to a bull barrel in the future too. I drilled my stock for sling studs. It was easy enough, although if you have a tap for threads, i would recommend it. Its hard material to put a sling stud into. I did not have one so I put the stud into the chuck of my drill and that worked just fine too. Sturdy, but light, it completely changes the dynamics of the rifle without adding a ton of weight. Shipping from the sender was a little slow to get out, but at the discount from other vendors, I don't mind that point. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a high-end stock that doesn't break the bank.

This high quality Magpul stock has revitalized my 1980 era Remington 700 in 30-06, which originally came on a hard polymer stock with the spring-loaded floor plate. The rifle is much more stable, and the stock is free and clear of the barrel. The user ergonomics are excellent and length of pull can be adjusted using the included inserts. This was a perfect drop in fit using the original stock screws. I had ordered longer screws just in case, but didn't need them. I also purchased the magazine converter from Magpul, which allows removable magazines feeding. When I added this, I did need the extended screws. These Magpul products require no cutting sanding or other permanent modifications to either their stock or your expensive Rem 700, so if you want to go back to the original or try another aftermarket stock you can.

I was at a crossroads (like many reading these reviews) whether I wanted to replace my Remington 700 entirely or re-stock it. I decided in-favor of trying out this Magpul 700L Stock to replace the factory Remington 700 ADL synthetic stock w/internal magazine *NO FLOORPLATE*(this is important). I was very skeptical about this stock judging from photos, thinking this thing was going to feel utterly "cheap", but having owned Magpul products in the past, I decided to go for it. Upon receiving and unpacking, I was already more than impressed; it looks and feels far better than pictures can do justice. Overall weight is very noticeably heavier then factory synthetic stock(some may dislike this, some may not care, but please be advised), ergonomics are fantastic, and the adjustable length-of-pull spacers are a nice touch! For those of you who are coming from a Remington 700 with Internal Magazine, that doesn't have a Floorplate, this is an important note. You will be required to purchase the Magpul Magwell( part# MAG569 for Magnum Cartridges or MAG489 for Non Magnum Cartridges) along with a fitting Magpul Magazine (Part# MAG698 for Magnum Cartridges or MAG671 for Non Magnum Cartridges). Once I had all the proper parts, installation was a total breeze. Since installing this stock, my rifle has truly become a totally different gun, and mostly all for the better. I am shooting far more accurately; there is less recoil, even out of the 7mm Rem Mag. With new Magwell, having the ability to have 6 rounds ready to fly is really nice! Overall build quality is fantastic for the price. Overall, I’ve really been enjoying this stock. I used it all Deer season and Elk season last year, and have zero regrets. I will say this, if you’re looking for something lightweight to pack around this is NOT the solution! I originally griped about the added weight, as I’m on my feet a lot during hunting season, but grew used to it quickly enough, and the pros far outweigh the cons. For general shooting, this stock is far superior to the factory stock in every way. I took 1 star off, due to the fact you need to purchase several other Magpul parts to actually make the conversion work successfully. I mean Magpul could at least provide some M-Lok QD Sling Mounts at a minimum. But again overall, once all said and done, it’s a great stock for the price, even after all the added expenses.

Great stock. Magpul quality as expected. Only downside is you cannot remove the bolt without entirely disassembling it all together. It’s not a deal breaker but still something to be aware of as I wasn’t. Mlock slots are good . Adjustable stock is easy to use. Was plug and play for my CDL 700.

Just installed this stock on my 30-06 springfield Rem 700 restoration and customizing project. Good looking stock, but needed something because there was too much OD green so I got a little creative with a can of rubberized undercoating spray and that seemed to do the trick. So far, I absolutely love this stock. Very solid! A little heavy, but comfortable. The barrel free floats nicely as well. Magpul rarely (if ever!) does you wrong.

I really want to give this 5 stars because it really is a high quality stock. My problem is the .25" cheek riser that is standard with it prevents my bolt from being removed because the cheek riser is in the way. So in order to clean the bolt or put the rifle in a case I have to unscrew and remove the cheek riser. Now magpul offers a "standard" 0" cheek rest which I feel should've been included in the box, especially since ITS CALLED STANDARD instead of me needing to pay an additional $20 on magpul's site because amazon doesn't carry it. Edit. Even the 0" standard cheek rest needs to be sanded down just to allow the bolt to come out. See attached pictures I bought long action and they should've thought about that with long action bolts. Either include a standard cheek rest or opt your customers to pay to upgrade, not downgrade. Why should I be sanding down an oem product just so the bolt can be released. Otherwise this is a pretty sweet stock. The dimples make it very clear where to still to put standard swivel mounts for a sling. The M-Lok is very convenient but I had to lookup youtube videos to figure out what I was doing wrong because the instructions weren't clear. I originally made this 4 stars but took it down after having to sand stuff down

A little less frustration, a lot more action. Wonderful stock for the Remington 700 LA. Making the barrel free-floating is also a nice bonus. Feels good in your hands and just the right amount of width. The OD green is a great color too.

Great product but does not fit my 700. Either the wrong insert was put into the chassis or the wrong chassis was put into the MagPul box. Simply does not fit..
