I'm now size 4-6, depending on the style. I had the original book, but bought this new, updated one. It has some improved layout and organization of content. Still awesome, and a reference I used almost every day, especially for maintenance. MY ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM 2010 for the first book: This book is responsible for my being able to do all phases of the diet successfully and maintain 45 pounds of weight loss, which was my goal. It made me well informed on the diet. I've done a few rounds using the sublingual drops. I don't know what I would have done without this book. I referred to it over and over again during all phases of the diet. There is helpful info on the Very Low Calorie Diet phase (VLCD or 500 Cal phase), as well as the Maintenance phase (also known as Phase 3 or P3). There is an extensive food list of allowed foods for all phases of the diet, and Dr. Simeons's complete manuscript is in the back of the book. I have to comment on a couple of concerns some other reviewers had: 1. Despite the fact that the organization of information and editing may not be as ideal as some of the reviewers here (and myself) would like, there is a TON of useful tips, information, and advice that can get you through this diet. There is information relating to the same thing in several areas of the book. So, you might find some maintenance (P3) tips in three or four different places. But the info is there. And it is extremeley helpful. The author is a pro at the diet, not at editing a book. Who cares? This book was written from her experiences in doing the diet and helping others do it, and her own research, and she wanted to share it with others. I have a bunch of post-it notes sticking out of this book for different things due to the fact that info is all over the place. It works for me and I'm just happy this book exists, because it got me through the diet. 2. Someone mentioned that it didn't really lay out the diet days in a straightforward way and it's not for newbies. I agree that it could have been explained better to the uninformed. But I saw this book as a supplement to what I already knew. There is actually a "Summary of a Typical Round" on page 5. It talks about the 2 loading/gorging days and the rest of the diet. I actually didn't realize it was there until I saw the author's comment on someone else's post. It's nice to know that she definitely put it into the book. I did each round of my diet through a med spa that used patented sublingual drops. They provided instruction sheets about days 1 and 2 loading/gorging, the Very Low Calorie Diet (aka VLCD or 500 Cal) and the food list for VLCD, and a brief explanation of Maintenance (aka P3). I also read Dr. Simeons's manuscript beforehand--from a PDF that I downloaded for free on the web. Because I didn't buy the book as a newbie, it was a bonus of info for me. I can't comment about how I'd feel if I were reading this with no prior knowledge of the diet, but my guess is that it would be very valuable. Why I got this book: I bought this book toward the end of my first round of the very low calorie (VLCD) phase. I was worried about doing Phase 3 maintenance (3 weeks in which you can eat anything you want except sugars and starches). I obtained this book just before I started P3 maintenance and I have to tell you it prepared me for maintenance in such a great way. Because of the help in this book, I had no trouble with maintenance or maintaining my weight. It explained why P3 is so important. If anyone does the VLCD and doesn't properly do P3, they are wasting their time because their system probably won't reset at the new weight. This book has Simeons's manuscript in the back, so it's easy to flip to that and read it instead of having to go to your computer and find the PDF or read it online. The info on maintenance was most important to me. I lost the weight, but keeping it off and making sure my system reset at my new weight was what was going to keep me from gaining it back. I lost weight and maintained at that new weight with each round I did. I referred to this book through all rounds and all phases. It has tips about how to break a plateau and how to maximize your daily weight loss. There are tips on how to get through maintenance and the most common mistakes people make with P3 Maintenance (one mistake is not eating enough food on maintenance! And she explains why that is.). There are different ways to get the HCG and in various forms. Some people use sublingual drops, homeopathic drops, or injections. There is a lot of information on the injections and mixing this stuff yourself in the beginning of the book. Since I didn't need that info, I ignored those sections. It doesn't matter what form of HCG you're taking. The book will help you get through the phases with success. I highly recommend that one get a diet coach/buddy (a friend who has done it successfully, or do it through a place that knows how to administer the diet) instead of doing it on your own. It's nice to have someone to talk to about the diet as you're going through it. And in addition to the coaching/buddy, use this book. My physician recommended Linda Prinsters book HCG Weight Loss Cure Guide and I'm so glad she did! It explains how HCG works and answered any questions I had regarding the protocol. It was my reference book whenever I was confused about anything. I must have opened and read it four times a day! I wanted to follow the protocol to the T!!!! I lost 26 pounds the first round. Then I did a second round starteding July 2011 and lost another 26 pounds! Let me tell you that I never in a million years thought I could only eat 500 calories a day but because of the HCG I wasn't hungry at all! I had tons of energy and I slept like a rock!!!! I drank gallons of water which after alot of research found that the body needs water to flush out all the fat that you shed on this HCG protocol. It makes all the difference in the world. My friend did the protocol with me and didn't drink as much water and she didn't lose as much as I did. The second round she did lose as much as I did. She's lost 12 inches and several dress sizes! I'm almost down to my goal weight of 115 pounds (I'm only 5 ft.). I started out at 189!!!! I've lost 52 pounds and am about to start my third and final round on Thanksgiving Day. Yes I planned it that way because the first two days on HCG are your "gorge days". You simply eat anything and everything you want. You want to eat bad stuff too because it triggers the HCG to work it's magic. It's so important to do this right or you won't experience the incredible weight loss transformation. Examples of what I ate the first two days were pie, brownies, bread, milkshakes, McDonalds hamburgers, pastas, chocolate and the list went on. Eat, eat, eat but don't get sick. You are on the HCG so on the second day you might not feel so hungry but eat anyway that's IMPORTANT!!! I can't stress this enough!!! Trust me...on the third day you won't be hungry and you'll find that you've lost 3-4 pounds!!! Yes in the beginning it's water but everyday you'll see amazing results!!! Your body just gets smaller and smaller. Oh yeah and don't buy any new clothes until you've reached your goal weight. I did just that. I bought some what I thought were "skinny jeans" on a Friday and by the following Friday they were too big on me!!!! Yes I had lost 8 pounds that week and my brand new jeans now hung on me like loose skin! Speaking of loose skin... don't worry about that. On this protocol your skin goes back to normal. For some reason on other diets that I had been on, my skin sagged and I lost all my breast tissue. Not on this protocol! I lost fat from my hips, thighs, arms, tummy and calves not my breasts!!! Like I stated, I'm about to start my final round on Thanksgiving Day 2011. I've maintained the weight loss now that my metabolism is normal again and I've trained myself to eat better. The protocol helped me break vicious food cycles that I thought I could never break. I loved sugar and sweets and now I have them now and then but I don't crave them like I use to. And even if I over eat now and then I jump right back to my new eating habits because I feel so much better at this new weight. I don't know what I would have done without this book - Excellent maintenance information

Awesomeness!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book, it tells you everything you need to know about this diet...I literally lost 20 lbs over night the first night after day 1 on phase 2. My b/f weighed himself to show the scale wasn't lying and the next morning he was still the same and I was down 20 lbs. I thank God for this because it felt like a miracle. I was very strict and kept to the book with no hunger pangs. I didn't know where to find the toasts so I left those out. A lot of people are mixing their veggies but I didn't do that. I decided to go on the 41 day plan after seeing how good the results were...it made me pushed on. I mainly ate a lot of chicken breasts more than beef. My 20 lb weight loss stabled for like a week or more...then I started losing little by little. I lost 40 lbs total by the end of my 41 day plan. You must stick to the maintenance phase after too but don't beat yourself up if you gain a little...just do as the book says. Your body will feel better losing all this weight and will feel healthy. I started to love fruits more and didn't care to eat carbs as much as I did. Phase 4 for lifetime maintenance...I did eat out at times and had carbs but still kept a low weight. Just exercise and eat healthy 5 days a week. I also noticed that I wasn't as hungry as I used to be...it just totally changed. Some people say that they lose hair after the weight loss, I did a "little" but it "Grows Back" and I personally thought it was worth it. Just take care of it with good shampoo and vitamins. Anyways I think its common after losing weight so fast so it's not the HCG. I bought my HCG at therealhcgdiet.com after reading a forum on how good it was. Anyone who's thinking of losing a lot of weight, I really recommend this book! It leads you in the right direction...you will look and feel better!

Great resource, but...
Lots of great information, especially that it includes the original resource for this amazing dietary plan. It's a party line book, and that's not a bad thing. My only complaint about the book is that the index is deplorable. It's a one-page synopsis of the table of contents, and not very helpful for the sorts of details that one hopes for in an index. I'm hoping that it shows up as a Kindle product so it can be searched. Second best option would be for someone to create a good index and make it available as a public service to all those involved in the HCG protocol.

An excellent book that tells you how to SUCCESSFULLY complete Dr. Simeons' HCG diet protocol
The HCG Weight Loss Cure Guide... is an excellent book. It helps define and explain in Layman's terms how to SUCCESSFULLY complete Dr. Simeons' HCG diet protocol. The diet does work. It takes commitment and being emotionally stable with food in order to be successful on the protocol. There are other things that need to be assessed before beginning the diet as well, BUT, it is absolutely necessary to be committed and emotionally stable with food in order for you to have a smidgeon of hope of fully succeeding with this protocol. Linda Prinster did an excellent job explaining the program and pointing out the necessary things one must do to do well on the program. It is an easy book to read and follow. I would recommend this book to a friend or family member that I knew would be willing to follow the protocol EXACTLY. I would not recommend the HCG diet protocol to someone who is wishy-washy or has commitment issues.

Weight Loss Cure Guide
This guide contains good information, but is somewhat repetitive in format and could be condensed to put information together. It also contains many typos and grammatical errors and needs a good editor. If the heart of the material for the diet was all put together at the end, it would be easier to use as you begin the diet.

It Works!
This book was recommended to me by a world reknowned author, speaker and expert in women's health. We did a TV show together and she told me abou HCG and this book in the Green Room. I got it...it works. I lost 25 opounds in 35 days and have kept it off. The big surprise was it was the easiest thing I've ever done. I'll never be overweight again. I have passed it on to my friends and co-workers and we have collectively lost hundreds of pounds. Don't get any other HCG book on the market. This is the one.

Great help
It is exactly what I was looking for. I wish I had it at the beginning of my HCG diet but I will be doing another round so having it is great. I lost 30 pounds using this protocal. I do not recommend using it without a naturalpath. The book is amazing.
