The accessories shown in the advertised picture are not included. Whilst this is explained in the small print, it is not obvious. I fully expected to receive the accessories with the blender. Otherwise, the blender itself is good, delivered promptly and the packing was brilliant.

Works like a champ. Replaced our old Kitchen Aid blender with this improved version, and it is an improvement. The container no longer drips when you pour the liquid. The old version lip dripped no matter what you did; this one does not drip at all. Nice clean design and very easy to clean, unlike the old version, where you had to disassemble the entire blender to clean it. This one is configured to be able to clean without taking anything apart. Real time saver. And boy, can it crush ice - 2-3 seconds and you are done. Kitchen Aid did a great job at improving their blender.

My old Jamba blender had started leaking every time I used it and it started becoming a slacker at ice crushing so I started looking for a replacement. In researching this blender I came across this one with two smoothie blending cups. This meant that there would be a separate set of blades for smoothies and components could be easily cleaned or replaced if damaged.The cone-like shape of the cup helps draw the ice down so it doesn’t ride on top of the ingredients and the blade design prevents cavitation. It does such a good job chopping and blending the ice and frozen berries that preparation takes a fraction of the time AND effort than it did using my old blender. And the consistency is so much better! No ice or berry chunks, just a smooth refreshing drink without surprises.I do not drink out of the smoothie containers so they will last longer and be less subject to possible breakage, but that is a matter of personal preference. The separate smoothie blade unit and the drive system in the base are made of some sort of polycarbonate that seems pretty tough. The decorative base exterior is plastic, even though it appears to be metal in the pictures so be careful how you handle it. It’s difficult to tell how well it will hold up its finish. Mine is the shiny red finish. It is available in several colors and shiny or matte finishes, the latter probably being more resistant to showing fingerprints.All in all I am impressed with the strength and efficiency of this machine and as I find more uses & recipes for it, I may update my review.

UPDATE-- Five years later and it's still going strong!I make smoothies often. I've burned through two Nutri-bullets and a Ninja over the years. I LOVE THIS KITCHEN AID BLENDER! It is powerful yet quiet. It is easy to clean (I throw everything in the dishwasher--well, not the motor, obviously). It even looks nice. I've had a classic Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer for more years than I'd like to admit, so I suppose I should have bought a Kitchen Aid blender before all those Ninja and Nutri-bullet blenders. At least my search is over now.Pros:QuietChops ice into a nice smooth consistencyChops through fresh ginger, carrots, and everything I've thrown in there (no, I'm not making Will It Blend videos!)Multiple settingsSlow start feature really works; the food does *not* fly to the top (or the ceiling if you forgot the lid)Dishwasher safe (or at least I run them through with no visible bad effects)I thought the price was rightHas single-serve smoothie cups like Nutri-Bullet and Ninja, but also the large blending vesselThe food pours nicely from the vesselCons:It would be nice if the cord stored under the unitUh....I'll update if I come up with any other cons!!Note, if you're still reading at this point: The food pusher for the meat grinding attachment for the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer and the food pusher for this blender are exactly the same thing. That's not exactly something you need two of in your kitchen.
