I can't say enough good things about Christensen's book as a foundational book for the study of deification, theosis and sanctification from a Wesleyan perspective!Definitely, buy Russell's The Doctrine of Deification in the Greek Patristic Tradition, and Kharlamov's Theosis: Deification in Christian Theology Vol 2 also! These three together form a very strong foundation for further study in this area.A good section of my doctoral proposal was based on this book and the other two mentioned earlier. My proposal has been approved!For those in the Methodist family tree, complete the circle by reading Christensen's chapter in Ortiz's With All the Fullness of God: Deification in Christian Tradition.

Book arrived promptly and in perfect condition. As a detailed and thoughtful introduction to a wide spectrum of thought in regard to theosis, it is a book that will receive my careful reading and re-reading.

Just beginning to read this...must confess that it's very dense reading, so I must proceed slowly. Will post a more detailed review later.
