A Inspiring and Heartbreaking History
Reading the story of the Post Office makes you realize how important the mail and those who carried it were and are to America. The book was wonderfully written and tells the many triumphs and tragedies that the Post has gone thru in 200 plus years of service. A must read.

Interesting book if you are into US postal service
Interesting book but needs more colour photos of actual paintings depicted in US post offices.

I love history so I really liked it
Very informative, I love history so I really liked it.The end was a little dry for me; don't let that stop you you from reading about our postal system and learning all about its birth and development. We live in a great country!

Fascinating Read!
This book takes the reader from Ben Franklin's inception to today's ongoing problems of servicing a public fed by digital content. You will travel over the first tenuous trails blazed by the post to the pony express and wagon trains as America grew west. Learning our country's history in such a manner and how each postmaster met the post's many complications along the way is utterly fascinating. We had some very forward-thinking postmasters and some who seemed overwhelmed by the position. I particularly enjoyed reading about some of the very interesting women who played a part in the history of the post! I recommend this read. It certainly gave me a wonderful appreciation for the Post Office. I now THANK MY POSTAL WORKERS as a result!
