This small sized sharpener has nice ceramic rods that will do a good job once you figure out the awkward way in which this product is used. It would seem that could simply rest the knife at the bottom of the V and pull the knife across the rods. But no, the angle is not the correct one. The manufacturer says that the knife must never hit the bottom of the V. So you have to hold the knife above the bottom of the V. It works, but the process is kinda slow and frustrating. Best if you never let the knife get very dull such that just a couple of strokes will bring it back to full sharp. (a good policy anyway) This sharpener is not the tool that you need t restore a knife that is quite dull. Best kept around as a portable tool. For your kitchen and general use you need something larger.

This a handy little rascal. There was one tethered to the counter at an Electrical Supplier we use. I tried it and left. A couple of hours later I used my knife, holy smokes it was razor sharp. I called them to find what kind of sharpener it was and found it on Amazon. I keep it in the kitchen to sharpener the knifes. Pretty nifty and easy to use.

Gatco Super Micro V Ceramic Sharpener was delivered very soon after ordering. Unit appears just as shown and seems to be fo good quality. I tried it on my Italian Stiletto, which is difficult to sharpen and it worked great. This will shortly go in my bug - out bag. I ordered a second one (with the carbide option)for camping and fishing also. So far very satisfied.

It fair. I had a MAC tools ceramic sharpener before this it was MUCH better (and about the same price) looked the same but didn't work as well. Very iffy holding it while sharping, doesn't feel safe. as far as the actual sharping ability it adequate. I will next time do more research or just find the Mac truck!

Had one of the fine ones for years. Great for blade touch up ... and more.Mine has spent a lot of time "disassembled" ... with a rod held in pin vise. Makes a superb, subtle de-horning tool for stainless equipment that shouldn't snag or bite. You can do a great "mini-melt" with it!
