I was a little worried about the thickness, but it's perfect—not too flimsy, but still thick enough that it feels durable and won't rip easily. Cutting it to shape was a breeze, which made my little project so much easier. I'm using it to grow some cactus seeds and it's working great. The reflective material does an amazing job of bouncing light back onto the seedlings, and it definitely helps with heat retention. The best part, though, is that you can see through it just enough to check on everything without having to take it down. Plus, it's a great way to keep my nosy neighbors from thinking I'm running some kind of illegal grow operation instead of just pursuing my hobby! Highly recommend it. I have the same problem. Pole light is so bright it not only trespasses across his property line but reflects into the channel giving off a glare all night long that we have to endure. (If you didn't do this, did you try something else?) **Q: Hi can you use a heat gun on it to make a Mylar mirror for a dance studio ?** A: No idea but based on the product I would think a heat gun would melt the film **Q: Would this be sturdy enough to mount to a wood frame for removable reflective panels? (Grow Table project)** A: Yes **Q: Can this be used for wrapping paper?** A: I mean, yeah. It would make sufficient wrapping paper, but its primary function is for reflecting light or stamping out those balloons. And now wrapping paper ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great, Measure and get the size you need though *by J***. on September 21, 2025* This VIVOSUN Mylar film is fantastic! They informed me that the first roll was a manufacturing defect. I am very pleased with this new mylar film roll. I am even more pleased in the level of service I received from VIVOSUN. I plan to continue purchasing from them whenever possible, knowing they stand behind their products. Well done! ________________________________________ (Previous Review): I am pretty happy with this Mylar film. Didn't experience any streaking, but I did notice that it is easy to create streaking/scratches if you are not careful. You will want to take care to unroll the film on a clean smooth surface; any abrasion may leave streaks/scratches easily. It is pretty thin (only 2 mil. thick), but it is surprisingly durable. I used a staple gun to hang some sheets. Even after some serious tugging/pulling, even stepping on the bottom, the film didn't tear or come loose -- there was some streaking/scratcges though with minimal contact. This film is not forgiving when it comes to scratches. I will say it is very reflective. Although, It is translucent. You can clearly see what is on the other-side, when looking into a lit room, from a dark room. It is comparable to some serious limo tint. 1 layer thick and it block almost all the light from coming through. But again, it is possible to see through it. This film is also very rigged. It doesn't fold well, it wants to retain its original shape -- but it does wrinkle without too much difficulty. Makes it a little difficult to double up. Honestly, not much light penetrates using a single layer though. This film would be much better with a black poly backing. I would recommend this to a friend as a cheap option for Mylar film. However, I would heavily suggest substituting the 7 mil version instead. ## Frequently Bought Together - VIVOSUN Highly Reflective Mylar Film Roll 4FT x 100FT for Outdoor Grow Room Indoor Decoration Aluminum Paint Coated 2 Mil Silver - General Hydroponics pH Control Kit For A Balanced Nutrient Solution --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/34119988-highly-reflective-mylar-film-roll-4ft-x-100ft-for-outdoor](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/34119988-highly-reflective-mylar-film-roll-4ft-x-100ft-for-outdoor) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
