This VIVOSUN Mylar film is fantastic! I was a little worried about the thickness, but it's perfect—not too flimsy, but still thick enough that it feels durable and won't rip easily. Cutting it to shape was a breeze, which made my little project so much easier. I'm using it to grow some cactus seeds and it's working great. The reflective material does an amazing job of bouncing light back onto the seedlings, and it definitely helps with heat retention. The best part, though, is that you can see through it just enough to check on everything without having to take it down. Plus, it's a great way to keep my nosy neighbors from thinking I'm running some kind of illegal grow operation instead of just pursuing my hobby! Highly recommend it.

Great material if you are looking for a durable metallic film. I bought it to make a photo booth for my child’s Bat Mitzvah and it worked amazing!!! . Does not tear apart like the space blankets, it can be wrinkled without being messy and the price is reasonable for 100 feel! Highly recommend

I am very pleased with this new mylar film roll. I am even more pleased in the level of service I received from VIVOSUN. Well done! ________________________________________ (Previous Review): I am pretty happy with this Mylar film. Didn't experience any streaking, but I did notice that it is easy to create streaking/scratches if you are not careful. You will want to take care to unroll the film on a clean smooth surface; any abrasion may leave streaks/scratches easily. It is pretty thin (only 2 mil. thick), but it is surprisingly durable. I used a staple gun to hang some sheets. Even after some serious tugging/pulling, even stepping on the bottom, the film didn't tear or come loose -- there was some streaking/scratcges though with minimal contact. This film is not forgiving when it comes to scratches. I will say it is very reflective. Although, It is translucent. You can clearly see what is on the other-side, when looking into a lit room, from a dark room. It is comparable to some serious limo tint. 1 layer thick and it block almost all the light from coming through. But again, it is possible to see through it. This film is also very rigged. It doesn't fold well, it wants to retain its original shape -- but it does wrinkle without too much difficulty. Makes it a little difficult to double up. Honestly, not much light penetrates using a single layer though. This film would be much better with a black poly backing. I would recommend this to a friend as a cheap option for Mylar film. However, I would heavily suggest substituting the 7 mil version instead.

The product quality seems excellent, though I have not unrolled the entire roll for inspection. The only problem I encountered was some shipping damage. The first 20 feet or so were damaged (about the lower 4 inches) because the box it was shipped in was 52 1/2" long. This is one of those "Ahem, attention Amazon..." reviews. This was a 4' long roll. That's 48". It was wrapped in plastic, so as a shipper making boxes I'm allowing between 1/2" and 1" max for the wrap. So a 48 1/2" to a 49" box. IF you ship it in a box at all (a shipping tube is preferable for rolled damageable items, and easier to size). NOT a 52 1/2" box. Know what happens to a tight roll of something if you give it a chance to slide back and forth 4 or 5 inches? It tends to be a not-tightly rolled up roll and it will walk off the roll to one end. Which is what happened. And a good chunk of it was crinkled and damaged as a result. Now yes it's an amazon shipping issue, but...I received damaged product. So took off a star, which seems fair. Was it bad enough to send it back? In my opinion, the amount that was damaged didn't warrant the effort that would have been required. So...meh. So if you order this, you might want to add some special instructions to the order and request they package it carefully and without much end play. Now, the product itself, once I got past the damaged section, is great. The coating is smooth, reflective, and even, and, for 2 mil mylar, is pretty durable. If they can get Amazon on the ball, shipping-wise (honestly, it's a problem their shipping department can solve with a 10 minute training session on shipping these types of items) this is a 5-star product. Very high quality and I would absolutely recommend it.

Perfect for putting behind my grow lights on a shelf, and blocking 98% or so of light from going outside! I was worried about durability/ not being reflective enough, but it exceeded my expectations. It is very thin/ light, but inside it looks like a slightly distorted mirror (because it's not perfectly straight). It might be slightly less bright than an actual mirror though, but I wasn't looking for a perfect mirror. At night, before my grow lights were lighting up the entire backyard. Now with this behind them, you can barely see through the film at night unless a couple feet away (all I have int he room are the plants, so no need to close the blinds)! If you're looking for a near (but not perfect) mirror surface, that's light, thin, and durable enough for how thin it is (I accidentally rubbed it against the metal shelf, and the surface didn't rub off), then this is great! NOTE: One side is much more reflective than the other (like one is 80% vs. 98% looking). The inside of my roll looks like a mirror, whereas the outside looks closer to aluminum foils reflectiveness. So make sure you pick the mirror finish for reflecting light!

I decided to try this on my roller shades instead of the significantly more expensive windows films, and it has worked beautifully. I would say it's about a 5% transmittance product, meaning you can barely see daylight and the sun through it. Two sheets achieves total blackout. It's easy to cut and fit and extremely durable as to the material itself--can be folded, bent, scrunched, and so far hasn't torn and recovers. The aluminum can be scratched off, though, which can be seen if you're looking through it (by anything it rubs against). It barely retains the curve from the roll and hasn't caused me any difficulty due to which side I use. Masking and duct tape stick easily to it and peel off without damage. Looking at it from outside, it's like a mirror. In my broiling, full-sun all-day apartment, it has significantly cut back on the AC which used to run all day.

I am very disappointed was looking forward to this all week wanted to hang up a few of this on my walls when I realized it was not at all reflective like I thought it was going to be. The other films I looked at had like a tape on one side I guess I just assumed this one would too. That is my fault tho but when I opened up the film it was already dented I had to roll back 3-4 times before I could find an area without dents. I know it is thin but it dents so easily. Used to make DIY grow tent and it worked great! For the price, it was worth it to buy the 100ft roll to have extra for other projects or if I tear this tent down I can rebuild. Very reflective on both sides and strong but easy to cut with sharp knife or scissors. Good if you don't want to spend money on expensive grow tent and don't mind constructing one with cardboard and tape. Easier with 2 people to work with in large parts to avoid accidental creasing but it is very resilient to creasing in general.

This film works great as a reflective coating. Great quality and provides a near flawless and even reflective surface for things like grow rooms. One word of caution, however, is that light passes through it. So, if you also want to use it to block light and make a bucket opaque, for example, it will not work at all. I'm not sure how something can be 95%+ reflective (or whatever the spec is), and yet allow light to pass through, but it does. For most applications and people, however, this won't matter per its intended applications.

The girls love it! Its a great product! Very reflective! Yes it does scratch and doesn't wipe well, but for the money you pay... You really can't complain. Its a great alternative to buying a tent if you have a room you can well ventilate. I bought the 100ft roll to use maybe 20 ft because I did read the reviews and some say it did scratch so I figured buy more then enough and just replace it if need be. I've been using it for about 2 months, I have replaced the mylar once due to my reflector swinging a little bit but as soon as I fixed it I changed the mylar and problem solved. Overall a great product, could not be happier. Also I used staples and if to tight will cause it to rip.
