Very good for the price
Very good compass for orienteering.Missing a few features which you can get in other compasses, but this one cost lest then half.So, if you are looking for something simple, don't hesitate about this one.

Thumb compass
Initially, had an issue. Seller has been great. Reached out to me and sent me a replacement. Received new compass and holds to magnetic north. Guessing I may have mistakenly got a Southern Hemisphere one originally. Really nice to be able to switch between right or left hand. The inclination points on the bezel is a sticker as opposed to etched on the bezel. For the price point, it's a fair compass. Again, thumbs up to the seller.

Simple…Second One
I was so excited when the first one arrived. The minute I pulled the box from the Amazon package I k ew something was wrong. The box was mangled and taped. The item wasn’t in its bubble wrap and was in two pieces. I suspect this was a return sold as new.I gave this another chance. The second one came in the Amazon package. Inside that I found a bubble envelope, sealed. Inside that was the box, not taped. The product was flawless. I tested it using an old orienteering map. It works very well. It will aid me on the run.The lowered stars are for the person who shipped out returned and broken as new.

Great compass for the price!
Compared to other cheep compasses, this is very fast and stable. A pricey high end compass will be slightly better at 5x the cost, but this is good enough for all but the highest level orienteering

Disappointing - bubble formed after a couple of uses
I bought this compass for orienteering. After only using it at a couple of events it developed a bubble. The bubble interferes with the pointing direction of the needle, so that the compass now doesn't set properly. Found this out after I set off on the trails today, and had a pretty frustrating experience having to try to carefully angle it so the needle swung and didn't hit the bubble. It's going into the trash now. Would not recommend. (picture attached)
