Proportions need to be different
I’m a chef, and therefore am tasting things all the time. This is a good concept, but poor execution. The spoon itself isn’t as wide as it should be, and because of the length of the handle you have to angle it up quite high to remove it from the pot/pan, and therefore much of the juice then drains out of the spoon before you can even taste it.

"beautiful" tasting spoon
i simply love hand-made olive-wood utensils... okay, okay, this spoon does not "taste" beautiful, it is a "beautiful" tasting spoon... to ensure the chef does not receive lip burns tasting their liquid/stock masterpiece, this unique spoon offers a large spoon at one end (approx 1/2 TBLSP) to lift liquid out of pot/pan and a channel for cooling off liquid prior to reaching the tasting spoon (approx 1/2 tsp) at the other end... how cute... this process actually works... how ingenious... i also like the idea of having 2 spoons in one... enjoy...

Olivewood Stirring/Mixing Spoon
From the picture, you would assume this was a normal-sized mixing spoon. Not so! This is a miniature spoon for a major price. Oh, it is olivewood, but it is TINY. I am very dissatisfied with this product. I would return it but have decided it's better than nothing until I can find a real olivewood mixing/stirring spoon made for a normal hand to replace my old spoon, which finally broke after twenty years good service.

Disapointed
When I recieved the first one in the mail it had a ship on the back end of the spoon. I returned it with no problem and recieved a second one only to find it to had a small chip in it as well. It apparears that no one is looking at these before they are sent out. I was very disapointed.

I'm lovin' it
Love it, but I use it less for tasting soup and such, more for stirring coffee in my press brewer.

Same Berard Quality
The olive wood is sturdy, well-crafted and beautiful; It's a pleasure using this utensil. I've relied on Berard products for about seven years, and the quality hasn't changed.
