Great tutor
This book, with simple illustrations, is full of guidance and tips to help the player new to sax. I often go back to it to check things. Good to have on the shelf. It won't teach you how to play or fingering etc but it will give confidence and ensure you avoid pitfalls. Highly recommended.

Very Handy book ! - Reccomended
I have been learning to play the alto saxophone for 6 months and I am finding that this guide contains excellent information that can normally only be received from saxophone teachers.I have no hesitation in recommending this book to all budding saxophone players.

Its simple good advice, not detailed explanations
Its got a value for direct uncomplex pointers. For those players who have managed to largely tame the sax without a teacher it will offer some insights they've overlooked. For a son who doesnt want formal study, prefers copying records. Its a "mechanics" book, not about making music on the sax. I think its the first sax book I have read where the phrase " all 12 keys" seems to be missing.I was pleased to see the occasional inclusion of the soprano sax, too often ignored.( I play soprano)

Every Saxophone Player should get a copy of this quick to navigate, fantastic reference book
I am a saxophone teacher who likes to keep on top of the latest advice and techniques for players of all standards. I teach all ages of musician and many have had time, during lockdowns, to concentrate more on their saxophone playing. This book is quick and easy to navigate, each chapter on its own common issue with technique, with clear diagrams and succinct explanation you won't have that technique problem for long!I have already recommended this book to my pupils for their personal exploration. You should buy it too!

It had some useful information in it.
The price of the book reflects its content. Some of the diagrams could have been clearer as could some of the descriptions and instructions. It did supply some useful tips, but on the whole I found the book very limited. I have found much better books even though they did cost a bit more. For the price it is worth reading as it may add some useful information. But I would not recommend it as a complete guide. At best it could only be used as limited supplementary material.

Beginner's Dream
I have only just started learning saxophone and felt that I didn't know where to turn or even start. Found this book and even though I have only just gotten into it, a quick skim shows that it covers all the basics that self taught people need to know. I now feel confident that I have a clear path ahead of me to try to develop the skills to replace my lack of talent!!

Some practical tips
Though mostly aimed at the novice, this small book still offers some useful advice to the more advanced student. Not so much a comprehensive how-to, but rather organised tips from an experienced player.
