The Best Epoxy Stuff We Know
We've used J-B Weld for many years. Our most recent application was to fill and renew the screw holes on a 15gal. plastice sprayer tank. Replacing faulty pums had stripped the mounting holes. We mixed equal parts of the J-B, then tightly pressed the grey paste into the hole with a putty knife. The next morning, the epoxy had hardened and we could drill pilot holes for the new mounting screws. The project used the last of J-B in the 'old' tubes, so we ordered more. How is this Non-Toxic (J-B Weld 8265-S (1oz Tubes) Epoxy Adhesive Cold Welding Compound, Non-Toxic)?
This is described as Non-Toxic. Which is the reason I bought it. But, based on the instructions, it is highly toxic, requiring gloves, safty glasses, ventilation, and it can cause cancer. This will not do.

Great product, but the Caps split
Great product. I have used JB weld many times over the years. I have, however had consistent problems with the caps for the tubes splitting on just moderate tightening. This has happened to me with many of the tubes I have bought over the years, so I learned to put the caps on very gently. Just got a new package, and on the first use, one of the caps split. I didn't notice it until it made a mess on my table. So, back to taping it up and storing it in a ziplock bag (more mess, more waste.) I finally decided to call the company and suggest they redesign the caps. The response I got was "I never heard that complaint before." Wow, just google it and you will see I am not alone. Maybe most people don't give the company feedback about problems..... I didn't for a long time. The person I talked to did say they would send me some replacement caps, which would at least help. We'll see. So, anyone else out there had this problem?
