Quality item, exactly as described

I installed in the transom of my boat. Yes this is for a Chinese Diesel Heater install. Transom is vertical so this outlet design worked well for me. Scariest part is drilling the hole in the fiberglass. I recommend using some blue painters tape over the area you are drilling the hole to avoid chipping the gel coat. Other than that it was easy. I did replace the bolts and nuts that came with this kit with shorter SS bolts. I did not use any sealant on the flange; only the supplied gaskets. No leaks so far. Outlet does get hot due to exhaust but only the inner pipe. Not the outer. Safe to touch everything during operation except the inner pipe. Note that the standard heater mufflers do not fit into the inner pipe of this fitting if you want to use one. I decided to do without the muffler. Sound of the exhaust is tolerable to me without it. Also, make sure to apply muffler sealant to prevent any CO (exhaust) leaks.

Like many others, I installed this on the transom of my boat for the “Chinese diesel heater”. It seemed to be of good quality at time of installation, however, after just a few months, it has started to rust profusely.
