Sorry, I do not know what deters silverfish, I bought them for wool moths.

How often do u replace these usually, to be effective ?

I just bought them and I expect to replace them yearly or as needed.

What material is the sachet made from?

like the small jewelry pouches. I sent them back though because to me, there was not a smell at all with them. I did not like them.

Is it one per hanger? Is it either cedar chips or lavender or alternating?

Well packaged and give off great scent. I placed these in our closets and drawers for moth protection. The reason for 4 stars is because I am not sure how they are working yet. But the scent is great and they have the ability to be hung on the hangers.
