Nice and glossy on wood
Made my outside table shine! Took them a slight shade darker even though it's clear. After a few heavy rains it seems to be disappearing in some spots. I sanded first and used 2 coats. (Tables are on a covered porch but still gets some some and rain during down pours.) Maybe I should have applied more coats?

Great for guitars!
Watco Lacquer performs as well as the much higher priced instrument finishing lacquers. It sprays well when thinned 4 to 1, sands easily, and buffs out perfectly. Highly recommended by Virtuoso Custom Guitars!

Nitrocellulose Lacquer Guitar Build Yes It can be Sprayed
I have built and finished seven Tele-Style guitars in the last seven years. I have used four different brands of Nitro Lacquer. Thought I would try the Watco brand as the price is less. It it is a "brushing lacquer" not sure why? It can definitely be sprayed and it sprays just as nice as any lacquer I have ever used. You will need to thin it. How much to thin can vary with what you are using to spray it with. I am using Preval Spray system purchaed from Amazon works great. I thin 65/35 and lay down 10 to 15 very light coats. One hour between very light coats. I have obtained excellent results with this method the key being very light coats no heavy or wet coats. The pics I have uploaded are a cerused finish on a Paulownia wood body and have not been buffed and polished yet.

Works as advertised
Dry's too fast actually. If you roll it on a flat surface it dries before it can settle into a sheen. Orange peel city. Lots more sanding than should be necessary because of that. The quality seems great though, and I'm sure if you are spraying it it's great. But don't even THINK about brushing it on anything. You'll be sanding forever.

Yes this is (Nitro) Lacquer. Yes you can use it to relic things.
I was able to tint this nitro lacquer with pigment and create a relic look for my guitar build. First I used actual pigment powder (first mix pigment in mineral spirits to dissolve powder) then add the color to the lacquer to achieve your desired finish. Spray it on with a HVLP paint gun, cure it with a UV lamp and use heat and cold to crack it and make it relic’d. I found ocre, brown, and gold to give my desired vintage aged blonde tele colors. It’s all subjective and you have to have a decent eye for things to get it right. I’ve since used it many times with perfect results.
