Great Product, Easy to Install, Would Recommend
UPDATE: Also now have one of these on my 2022 Raptor and my old review holds true. Only issue was that they included one fewer mounting bolt than they were supposed to. It didn't need to be a special size so I just grabbed a random nut and bolt that fit the hole, from my toolbox and was back in business. Read on for original review... Bought this for my 2018 Raptor after I realized the truck doesn't have much compartmentalized storage space, despite being huge. I paid for a luxury truck so I don't like the idea of things rattling around in the cabin or bed outside of trips to the hardware store. I wanted a good storage solution for small and medium items, but didn't want to sacrifice the floor deck space, that my SuperCrew affords, by adding under-seat storage. TLDR Works great. Highly recommended for anyone who doesn't like their stuff rattling around in the bed or rolling around in the cabin. Works with Ford OEM tonneau cover. INSTALL Installation was a breeze. In theory you could do this all with one adjustable wrench and a T30 torx bit on a scredriver. It makes life easier if you have a wrench set with the 30 degree canted enclosed heads (for reaching inside the tail light cavity to hold nuts in place) and a drill for the torx bit. Once you know what you're doing, you can install this in 15 minutes. No modification to your truck is required. QUALITY The mounting solution is solid and confidence inspiring. The construction of the box itself seems solid, though the use of ABS plastic seems a little cheap for a $200 item (it's plenty thick... I just associate ABS with cheap products). It locks in place firmly and hinges out smoothly, even fully loaded with stuff. The lock setup also works well, and you get a positive click when rotating it to open and close. Based on the simplicity of the unit and parts, it seems like a $150 item, but it's worth $200 for its function. FUNCTION I found there to be more space in it than I expected, which is a plus. I was able to get a large tow tongue, extension cord, ratchet straps, large screwdriver and hex wrench sets, flares, WD-40, mini sledge, and more, and there's room left for a small fire extinguisher and other items. If you installed one on each side of the bed, you'd have a serious amount of storage space that's out of the way and doesn't really impede use of the bed. In the event that you need to remove the SwingCase to maximize bed space, it's as simple as releasing the latch and lifting. Takes 5 seconds. The SwingCase locks up nice and firm in its stowed position, and they mounted the release lever offset-inboard, so when you pull it you're applying a torque that naturally swings the case out. It can't actually swing a full 180 degrees because it runs into the bed support cable, but it swings plenty far to be convenient. USE WITH FORD TONNEAU Note for those with an OEM Ford tonneau cover... I was worried the SwingCase would get in the way of the latch lever that holds the tonneau cover down. Turns our Ford's design allows the lever to move out of the way under its spring tension, while still keeping the cover fastened down. It even adds a little spring tension against the SwingCase, helping it swing out when released. No issues here.

Strong box, easy install on 2013 F150...
This thing is ingenious! I installed this on my 2013 F150 Lariat SuperCrew with 5.5' box. I do not have a bed liner yet, but this box will work with Bedrugs and sprayed in liners. The instructions say it works with drop in liners, but you have to cut away part of your drop-in liner to accommodate the hinge bracket. When I do decide to install a spray liner, I can simply remove the six bolts and quickly reinstall it. If I decide on a bedrug, I don't have to remove the bracket since the bedrug will simply install over it; I will only need to cut slots for the latching mechanism and hinges. Contrary to popular belief, this will install without removing the factory tie-downs on the 2013 F150 beds (I am sure it will also work on other close years, but I can only speak for the 2013). Here is how: The instructions say to mount the hinge plate with the bottom of it down against the bed. I simply raised it 1 inch above that bed and that caused the bracket to clear the tie-down with a little room to spare to hook in a strap to the tie down ring. Raising it an inch still gives enough clearance at the top of the box to clear the bed rail and any brackets you may have that clamp a topper or tonnneau cover. While the box does block the tie-down, I can still use the tie-down if needed by simply removing the box. The box lifts off the hinges with little effort. The molded plastic construction of the box is very durable. It is made with a thick plastic. The instructions say you cannot store certain chemicals in it, but this is not a problem for me since I store 9 heavy tie-down straps, trailer locks, a trailer receiver, construction knives, rope, and a 10 foot heavy duty jumper cable in mine. It is quite a bit of weight. The latching mechanism is wonderful. If you watch the videos on this product and how easily it latches, you will see how wonderful it will work when you install it on your truck. The swing latch does leave a little room for play when in the locked position. But this has not been a problem on my truck and I do not hear any rattling noise from it on rough roads. I find the size of the box to be perfect. It is not too large to obstruct other uses of the bed, and not too small that you cannot store enough in the box. It is great for storing items that I do not use very often which I do not want to store in the cab of my truck. If I ever need more storage room, I will get another one of these boxes for the passenger side. I already have an under-seat storage bin in the rear of my cab for items I use more frequently. It has two small bins to hold small items. One is permanently mounted in the small, upper area that is over the wheel well. The other is a floating bin that slides across the top. I keep my trailer keys, locks, and wires in this area. The lid does not open enough when the box is swung in the closed position because of the bed rail. However, there really is not a better way to make the lid work unless the box is made smaller. A side door could help, but then items may fall out when the side door is opened, and the hole for a side door would weaken the box. The installation instructions were well written, and there are online videos showing how to install it. Installation was very simple and took very little time; a lot less time than most aftermarket items I have installed on the truck. It is just installing six self-drilling bolts and you are done. I took the time to predrill pilot holes, but this is not necessary. The videos show how to contend with bed side rails that have a curve to them, and it was just simply to mount the bracket a little higher. My 2013 F150 does not have this curve, but I mounted 1 inch higher anyways to clear the tie-down ring. There is a tab on the hinge to lock the box with a padlock. I don't intend to use this since I have a hard tonneau cover and locking tailgate. The lid has a locking latch. Nice, if you don't want the box opened. However, the box can still be lifted off the hinge, so an extra padlock will be needed on the hinge if you don't want the box removed. The swing latch release mechanism works smoothly. Just simply pull the lever with moderate pressure and the box releases. Then swing the box back into place with a moderate push and it locks back in place. This box is everything I expected it to be. I watched the videos about it before purchasing it, so I knew exactly what I was getting. I recommend it for its decent durability and as a good place to store the small items that don't need to be in the cab. UPDATE: I've been using the heck out of this box, and I have a lot of weight stored in it. It still performs wonderful. The latching mechanism did start to bind up a little; however, I just sprayed a little dielectric grease on the moving parts and it works perfect again.

Good so far… easy installation…
It works but remember it is not made totally out of medal. The box is heavy plastic.. just don’t think you can put over 150 lbs in it… I’m going to get the one for the other side…

A GREAT space saving storage box.
I love this storage box which I purchased for my Ford F150. I can only give it four stars however because the latching mechanism is a bit stiff and requires lifting the box a bit to get it to click into place. I am hoping that this annoying "feature" will improve as the box gets some use and the latch loosens up a bit. Another reason I will only give four stars is that I feel the box could be a bit longer to provide more storage space and still fit over the rear wheel fender. When I ordered I had to do a lot of "Picking" to ensure I got the right model for my truck, so I can't help but wonder why the fit isn't making use of all the available space. The space that isn't used is now pretty much "dead space" between the Swing Case and the wheel fender. One other thing I advise is to be sure you get the right box for the side of the truck you want to mount it on. In my case, I thought I was getting a box for the drivers side, but they delivered a box for the passengers side. That is a big deal depending on how you like to place other items in the back of your truck. I am a remodeler and am very fussy about where I store my tools in my truck. I don't like to waste time looking for tools. So when I got the Swing Case and it was for the passengers side, it meant that I had to move my compressor over to the other side of my truck, which is a change in my routine. It turns out to be OK however, because I am left handed and can actually operate the Swing Case better with my left hand from the passenger side. BE SURE to check to make sure you order for the correct side of your truck, so as not to be disappointed. My installation was over (actually under and through) my BedRug. This is no big deal, you have to be willing to cut your BedRug though. You actually mount this case under the bedrug, directly to the interior fender. This requires one hole for the latch and I cut a long slit so the hinge end could protrude through the bed rug. This made for a neater installation. I also cut the BedRug around the hing pins to provide easier "On/Off" motion when I want to remove the case or replace it onto the hinge pins. All in all though I really like this box. I use it to store my bungies and tie-down straps which I used to store in a plastic milk carton. The bungies would always get caught on the box and it took up a lot of space in my truck, always in the way. This Swing Case has slove all those problems and I highly recommend this product.

Great for keeping the cab neat and tidy
I got my Swing Case on Tuesday. I installed it Wednesday. I had watched a number of installation video while shopping around. The only thing I was concerned with was nothing showed the installation while keeping the tie down plate in place so I thought I would have to lose that tie down point. Not so. I installed the catch piece right on top of the existing plate with absolutely no issues. The installation was about 15 minutes total, very simple. The fit is excellent. It easily swings open and closed and locks up tight every time. I was able to fit everything I had stored under the rear seat into the box. A leather cased tool kit, a first aid kit, all my tie downs, some bungee cords, and other misc. stuff. There is still room in the box, and the area that sits over the wheel well has a smaller compartment with a tray that sits on top of that compartment. I haven't put anything there yet. So I'm extremely pleased with it. I like that I can just lift the box off if I need the bed space, it easily fits under my bed cover and the fact that you can not only lock the top of the box, but you can lock the entire thing into the frame with a padlock if you're so inclined. I think this is probably the easiest after market product I've purchased for my truck to install. For my needs this was perfect. I definitely recommend it.

Dang it’s expensive but also awesome!
Ok I shopped around a LOT for this before I bought it. The knock off ones are SO much cheaper. But I also believe the knock off ones are so much cheaper. (See what I did there). I read reviews for hours and all the cheap ones had bad reviews about them breaking. So I bit the bullet and bought the expensive name brand ones. I’ve had mine installed for around 2 months and I LOVE it. It was even easier to install than I thought it would be, it works flawlessly, and is just plain cool! It uses that spot that nothing really fits. Now I have a jumper box, tow straps, air compressor, jumper cables, trash bags, rope, fishing gear, and even have some small tools like knifes, pressure gauge, and pliers in the removable tray. If you’re the guy that likes to have a bunch of STUFF with him just in case, get this box! It lets me have a lot of items all organized and I didn’t sacrifice any usable space. I still think it’s stupid expensive, but it’s also freaking awesome so just buy it. You won’t regret it.

Poor quality, missing parts
No screws in top cover, bolts not the right length for my truck, toolbox would not latch without modifying. When talking to customer service from Realtruck they just wanted to call back next day.

Fit well, looks good, and works great!
I purchased the passenger side box for my 2012 F-150. The box arrived on time and undamaged. Install was actually quite easy and probably only took me about 15 minutes, mostly because I double check everything. I have a spray in bed liner and this didn't create any installation issues or extra cutting. The video on Amazon shows an older box model as mine had some clear improvements to the hinges and the swing mechanism. The pictures are closer to what the box looks like now. Also, there is now a hinge lock included which prevents the box from being lifted and stolen. This is keyed to the lid lock so quite convenient. Both locks are really what some would call enough to "keep honest people honest", but I didn't expect metal armour. You can still add a padlock for extra protection. There are copies of this item also available, but they were roughly the same price. I chose to get the branded item and this was a great quality decision. . The box has lots of space, more than I expected and I am very pleased with this purchase!

Nice case - bought a second one - 8 minute install!
Really nice case - a big upgrade from the milk crates that I used for years for tie downs, and misc items! I started with the left side and then bout one for the right a couple of weeks later. So easy to install - the first one took about 20 minutes and the second one about 8 minutes. As they were spec'd for my new F150, no drilling or adjustment's were required. I can't speak for longevity at this point as I've only have them for a few weeks.
