It includes a mini cd that cannot be read from my slot dvd drive. any way i can download the software?

Your drive should have an embedded grove in it for the mini disc. If not you can download software from manufacturer site. Just do a search in google.

Is pin 2 tx from the pc or tx from the dte? normally pin 2 is pc rx.

Works correctly with a Male DB9 DT Equipment plug, Pin2 RXD, Pin3 TXD; this was for "console access" to HP ProCurve 'smart switch' which has 9 pin DTE port: transmit on pin 3 and receive on pin 2. Hope that answers your questions.

Is this configured as a null modem cable?

I just hand an issue where I could not connect to a system that required null modem. I was using a straight through gender changer and a null modem cable. We removed the null modem cable and the gender changer and it worked.

Will this work for transfer from pc to my pioneer stereo receiver

I do not know any pioneer stereo receivers that have an RS232 / DB9 input/output connector. This cable adapter is for low data transfer usually for older printers. I bought this to update a very old satellite dish. So short answer is I do not think this is what you are looking for.
