Review: Cut to fit is great! - We've used 2 sets of these blade protectors (so far). They work great on a concrete driveway and protect our expensive sticks. Only negative is no slap shots, the protector pops off and the blade gets damaged (by the ground). Review: Saves you $ well worth the price ! - These are exactly what I wanted. They protect your sticks for dry land training and significantly extend your stick’s life. I bought some heavy less expensive “old school” type sticks for of ice workouts and ended up putting these protectors on them. I cut off the last segmented section at the heel and the fit is good. Going forward I will probably put one contrasting piece of tape lengthwise along the bottom then regular black tape the blade as normal. This will make it very clear to see that it’s time to re tape and the protector will last longer as well. I bought black and I use black tape on the blades of my sticks. Would be smart to get the opposite color protector than the tape you use for the aforementioned reasons. Anyway, you get two to a pack so the value is decent. It’s a great value when you consider how expensive sticks are. I don’t use the actual ice hockey sticks I play with off the ice. They wouldn’t feel the same anyway and it’s a waste of money. Most pro shops have some heavy lumber that will cost a lot less and give you a better workout. I think this is the way to go. Then, when you get back on the ice your ice hockey stick will feel a lot lighter and more lively. Save the money get a couple heavier, stiffer old school sticks and tape these on them.
