Used to use just a clear trash bag. This looks much better and won't fall over and spill. Great if you want to keep your car clean. I put an empty grocery bag in it to make changing it out easier.**Please help and select if this review was helpful!

I was surprised by this thing.I bought it for my car, but have used it in my buggy as well so that empty cans don’t end up on the trails while out off-roading.After a day on the trails and several empty and crushed cans later I fell in love. I really like how the top either stays open, or closed so things can’t blow out or get shaken out of it over harsh rough terrain at speed. When I emptied it, I noticed a good puddle of “refreshments” that had leaked out of the “empty” cans. NONE of it seeped through the bag. While I don’t care if it leaks in the buggy, I do care if it leaks in my vehicles. So the buggy was a great test. I will be buying a couple more to be able to stay in the rock donkey I was impressed with it so much. Good quality, seems like it will be durable, felt like it was a good value for what I paid.

We have an Odyssey mini van, so this does not encroach on the space of the passenger in the back seat at all, but I did see some people say they had problems, so my guess is they have a small car. We have not had any problem with that at all. We love the durability. We have only had it for about a week, but it has really done what we wanted. We have grandkids with us all the time and we like for our van to stay clean. Now they have a place to put their trash. I line it with a grocery bag and it works very well. When it gets full I can just pull out the grocery bag, toss it, and put in a new one. No fuss at all. I love the spring closures, so it is very easy to close with just one hand. I have been looking for something like this for a very long time. EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED!

My partner got one of these from the dealer when he bought his car. I decided to get one because we have a dog who loves to raid the car trash bag, and the dog was completely unsuccessful getting into this bag. This is a dog who destroyed the last bag in my car while I was pumping gas. Even though both bags are installed in the same way in both cars, the dog has managed to get into the bag I bought from Amazon at least a dozen times, starting a few days after I installed it. My partner thought I was leaving the bag open. But last week we compared the two bags. His closed completely--no gap--and it requires some force to open. On mine, the two sides do not align, there's a gap of about an inch at one end of the opening--see photo. If you push down into the opening at that end, it opens easily.I wish we'd compared them when I got this one. I realized when I got it that the frame seemed a little "skewed." I don't know if it happened during shipping or it's a quality control problem. I am going to order another and inspect immediately. If there's a gap or the mechanism doesn't seem perfectly aligned, I'll return it. But when it works, it works really well.

Update after 2 months: I'm disappointed that this cannot handle liquid. I had spilled something in it so I quickly washed it out without submerging it and laid it in the sun to dry but now the metal inside must have rusted because it does not open and shut without squeaking. It's disappointing that I couldn't handle a quick clean.Finally I have a bag that helps me keep the trash at bay. With a min and kid who often eat in the car I find this very helpful. I like that I can hang it off the back of my center console (I just loop the piece near the hinged opening for the console) and easily reach it. I don't feel it's that easy to use one handed so I usually put trash in once I stop, but having this is helpful. I don't pour liquids into mine but sometimes things that are wet get in there and I've had no issue with them going through. I wish the prints were more to my taste but as for the usefulness of this I'll suck it up. The clasp is also very easy to use but stays closed. You'll be happy if you get this.

I love the amount of trash this holds without taking up a lot of space. However, the hinge that holds it closed is pretty sticky, so I have to leave it open to be able to use it while I drive, because I need to use two hands to open it.

My car is now spotless. So very easy to dispose of whatever just by reaching behind the passenger seat! Love how easily it opens and closes. Bought one for both my cars and one for my husband's!Just dump the bag when full. no more searching for empty cans that've rolled under seats!5 STARS!! Love it! And matches my interior too!!

Hi all , Look no further if you look for small trash bag with plenty of space in it for trash in your car . I am using it from so many months . you can actually fit one 500ml glass bottle , 2 can of pop , lots of wipes , tissues , 1 coffee cup , chocolate wrappers lol . it has plenty of room , you can also close the mouth of it . ITS AMAZING , perfect for any car just hang it at the back of your seat you are good to go . i empty is every week or if its full . Unfortunately life of this trash can is 2 years after that it will leak n manufacturer provide poor customer service if u contact them . Thanks

I got this as a present for my bf's dad to use in his pickup truck. It's perfect since the size is just right, not too small, not too big. It's very easy to assemble since it came folded, which saves space too since it's meant to hand behind a seat. He usually throws his trash on the floor mats but that accumulates over time and no one wants to see or smell old food wrappers/sugary drinks. This solves the problem since he will be mindful to throw out the trash once this bin fills up, it's usually good for up to two work trips. I also chose this one over the other options since the open mouth is useful, he won't have to look where the opening hole is to throw away his trash, the spring isn't sensitive to snap close by accident.

I was a bit skeptical of the size and quality, but I really needed a solution for a road trip and intended for it to be packed away right after. I tested it out a few days before we left in case I needed to order something else, but this hasn't left the car since and it's been over a month. It takes up no space and even when sitting in the back seat, you don't realize it's there and it doesn't intrude on personal space at all. Still plenty of room! I love that it can close and it's super easy to reach - even for me and I have mobility problems in my upper body. My sister owns this large, plastic container that hooks onto her headrest (like this one does, just 12x the size and plastic) that is ALWAYS in the way when she's trying to use her back seat - and forget about having someone sit behind her garbage bin! This is small enough to turn to the side so it's between seats too, which is a good solution if you do need the space in the back. Even with the size of this bag, it can hold way more than you think and served us well for 4 people for a 5 day trip and the car has been extremely clean. Thinking of ordering a second one!

Our bag is pretty floppy, not nicely open and squared out as in the picture. It hangs behind the front passenger seat from the headrest. It's just a bag. It keeps the car tidy because the kids were stuffing garbage in every crevice, under the front seats or just leaving it on the seat. It's a simple concept. Use a garbage receptacle so they have somewhere to put the garbage. A plastic shopping bag is ugly and floppy and there's no convenient place to put it. This is fine and it makes a big difference. I hate clutter in my car. It is hard to open. Not a spring but again, it's fine.
