Fantastic Machine !
Purchased this spot welder to assist in the replacement of my truck bed sides because of rust issues. I wanted the 120 volt welder because I don't have a 240v outlet near my work area. I have to say that this spot welder worked flawlessly and made the job a whole lot easier and faster to complete. I was welding approx. 1/8" - 3/16" metal with no problems at all. The only con would be as others have commented on is the weight of the unit (29 lbs). I gets a little heavy after you have done several welds, but I am in my 60's so I may be getting weaker. A younger person may not notice the weight factor as much as I. I highly recommend this welder.

Simple and very useful tool. Perfect for DIY projects. Great value.
I bought this for a project in fabricating duct fittings out of 28 gauge galvanized steel. Perfect application for this tool. The typical weld takes less than 1 second and is very sturdy. Also repaired a couple of spatulas... While spot welders are not designed for aluminum, but with a bit of luck and practice thin sheet aluminum can be spot welded. I successfully fabricated a pan liner for one of our cast iron pots, and was able to spot weld the aluminum ring. The trick is to flip the switch on and off as fast as is possible, 1/4 sec. Any longer and you melt a hole through the aluminum. Another way to weld aluminum is to sandwich it between two thin sheets of stainless steel. The 120 volt version of this welder is plenty powerful for anything that I will be welding. Probably you too. With 240 volts Iโd be limited to one spot in the garage, but with normal house voltage, you have a portable system for anywhere.

Is worth the money
Works great; but very heavy. I would give five stars; but the weight is a drawback. Have used it several times to spot weld auto panelโs.

Works great, packaging needs to be better.
Unit works great. Simple to use. But there packaging sucks mine came with the power cord connector to the unit broke and in pieces. Other then that I am happy with it.

Great tool
Heavier than I thought it would be but this tool works really good. It will come in handy and make jobs easier and much faster. It takes a little getting used to as far as how much time it takes to weld different thicknesses. If your working with thin metal hit the button quick or youโll over do it.

Voltage incorrect
Good product, would have given 5 stars, but sold as 110V when actually 240V. Packing disintegrated during shipping but works ok.

I love my new toy!
I had picked up some metal chairs and a table for free from a free-cycle place and all that was needed was to re-weld the section of seating that had pulled away. After some experimentation (total newbie here), we were able to sand away the paint from the seats, use washers to weld to the frame, then more washers as 'levers' to hold the mesh (which was so thin it actually melted through). But we were able to cobble together the metal pieces to fix the chairs. I am so stoked! I can't wait to play with this new toy in constructing other metal repairs and possibly art sculptures. The draw backs: 1) power sucks take a heavy draw on the power lines so you might possibly could break a circuit at your electrical panel box - it's best to use a 220 vs 110 electrical outlet 2) The metal tips that convey the electrical current are 'big' and chunky, so this will not work in tight places or with large pieces you have to manipulate, hold up in the air, or have to juggle into place - took my husband and I all four hands to manipulate the bulky chairs we were fixing 3) This sucker is heavy! Not overwhelmingly enough to affect my purchase, but you need to put it on something sturdy to use it. 4) It came with extra tips for later when the original tips get all crudded up. Overall I am very pleased with this 'new garage' toy!

Works well five layers of 20 gauge sheet metal
Great tool.

Works OK but had to spend nearly ยฃ60 for a transformer to reduce 240 down to 120v
No good for use in UK unless a transformer is used. Supplied as 120v and with a US plug.

Easy to use
Works well, saves me a lot of time instead of drilling and fouling up my TIG tungsten. The only drawbacks is so heavy and you have or carry the entire unit if you want to spot welding on certain height. It will be nice I can hook up wires so dont have to carry the entire thing.

They dont ship to Canada replacement nose tips for their 24" arms
The spot welder is ok. The part i am displeased with is if you by the longer nose peice for the same price ya pay for the spot welder you find out it takes different tips than the 6" noses. I have watched amazon for about 6 months for the different tips to no luck. I messaged them asking who supplies thier equiptment in Canada so I can get the tips. Only respons I get is they dont ship to Canada. One would think they might tell ya that before purchasing the 300 dollar longer nose arms for thier machine. VERY TEED OFF AT THIER CUSTOMER SERVICE
