Hothead (Irresistible)

I love a sexy athlete who only has eyes for his woman
Oh man. This book was not only steamy, but it was also swoooony! And although we have a reformed player who doesn’t do relationships, he ends up being extremely faithful to his woman, even in his thoughts. Not all players are players 💁🏻♀️💅.Evie is coming out of a long relationship. She has known her ex-boyfriend for a long time, since she was a child. They essentially grew up together and eventually got into a serious relationship. But it’s been a while since they’ve been intimate and their relationship has gone stale. They were finally moving into a new place and that’s when he tells her that he needs time away from her, and they shouldn’t be together. She’s blindsided but doesn’t want to give up on them. When she goes to an event, she’s outside talking to his voicemail when Drew, MLB pitcher for the New York Empires, overhears her. He tells her that she needs to stop begging, which triggers her to tell him off. Of course, he becomes cocky with her and lets her know that he could please her by barely touching her, and he does 🥵🔥😅.Drew is a hothead. He tends to get triggered (fights and arguments) and it might cost him his career. When he’s seen talking to Evie at the restaurant, they get photographed and people think that they’re together. He gets called in by his agent and is advised to pretend he’s in a serious relationship with her, even as far as being engaged, or else his position with the New York Empires will be at risk (he’ll get traded). Since he doesn’t want this happening, he agrees, and now he has to convince Evie to go along with this.It doesn’t take much to convince her though because they have such intense chemistry going on. Plus, this is a way for Evie to get back at her ex for breaking up with her. If he sees that she’s moved on so quickly, her ex will get possessive and want her back, and Drew will keep his job. They get a contract going an agree to a few things- be romantic in public, live together, and they must do this for three months. Drew can’t have sex with anyone, including her (since she’ll get upset when they “break up” three months from now) and they must keep the farce up to convince the world of their love. But do you think they listen? 😅Their connection is intense- they can’t help gravitating towards each other, even when they’re alone. From touches, to glances, to possessiveness, to massages and rub downs, these two have more chemistry than a science lab🥵🔥. Even when they agreed to “not go too far and touch each other” when they’re alone, they break the rules, and every single time is delicious 😅💦🔥. Jeeezus it was explosive 🔥. The confidence he exudes is so sexy (from their almost-kiss to the spanking/edging scene 🔥🥵).But besides the physical connection, the emotional connection that develops is more important. Drew has a REALLY hard time trusting people- to the point that he only really has a handful of people he confides in. He’s been burned before because of his status/career, and that’s something he needs to work on. Although Evie doesn’t open up to people often, the way they get close is organic and believable. Gawd- I loved it 🥺❤️.Now I need to read all the other books in the series.⚠️safety squad⚠️-no owd/cheating/sharing-mild omd- the h talks to her ex a few times, even confronting him because of their breakup and the things she finds out. The H and h have words, but it doesn’t really put a damper of the H and h’s relationship. When the OM tries to make fun of the H for a bad game, the h steps up and defends the H, being as feisty with her words and her actions.-there’s a scene where there are girl fans taking pictures with the H, but it’s not a big deal to either character (the H gets irritated though and just wants to touch the h and get away from the fans)

So cute!
Exactly what I was looking for. Such a cute fake relationship that had all the feels: heat, drama, groveling and HEA.

Average Read
Trope: sports romance (MLB)Slow burn level: 60%Hero is hotheaded baseball player. His team is thinking of trading him because of his antics. His agent wants hero to faux a serious relationship to show the teams owners he's settling down and turning over a new leaf. He's a bit pragmatic and untrusting of others.Heroine is healing from a breakup. She misses her boyfriend and wants him back. When she is spotted getting into an argument with the hero after a drunk voicemail to her ex, the tabloids comment on their lovers quarrel. Since hero needs good press and perception of commitment, his agent requires they continue the rise that they are together.I felt the reasoning behind them having a fake relationship was a bit forced in terms of how realistic it is. So that threw me off. The plot was okay, just the pacing, build up of character chemistry felt a bit off for me.HEA w pregnancyTrigger Warnings: mention of addiction and domestic violence between family members

I simply floved Hothead just as I have loved every single book by Stella Rhys in the Irresistible series as well as her standalones. She took me to the dreamland as usual and let me live vicariously through her characters. The intimacy level alone could render me speechless and the fact that every guy she ever writes as the hero is hot as sin with an ego the size of Texas which matches their other parts makes my eyes water. Just one-click it!

Excellent Story!!
I’m so glad to have found Stella Rhys because every single book she writes just keeps getting better and better!Evie has been dumped by whom she thought was her forever. As she’s drunk dialing the ex-fiance, Drew, a professional baseball player, happens to overhear the conversation and the sparks fly immediately between the two of them! But when the press puts them front and center the next day, Drew and Evie take the bull by the horns and use it to their advantage.I love how Evie can give just as good as she can take. Even though Drew clearly affects her in more ways than one, she is determined to make their “show” of a relationship work for the both of them. Drew needs to look like he’s changed so his team won’t trade him and Evie needs a place to live while she saves for a place closer to work. What neither of them expected was their fake relationship to take a real turn and Drew and Evie begin to share the more intimate pieces of themselves with each other.I absolutely fell in love with Evie and Drew. They were hilarious together and the chemistry between the two of them put my Kindle in danger of melting. Lord, the sex between the two of them was BEYOND hot. Everything about their story was perfect.Hot Head is a story of two people’s journey of loss, betrayal, hurt and embarrassment which in the long run is all overcome by the greatest joy in the world, love.

Loveeee!!
This is amazing! I loved everything about! I loved both Drew and Evie! Their chemistry was sooo good! I only wished we could have seen Mike being a little salty at the end. I did kind of forget about him being caught up in Drew and Evie- which I loved- but I felt we were kind of left hanging with Evie’s situation with Mike and Hilary. Other than that I love love love this book! 4.5 stars!

Gaaahh! Completely adored this story!! Funny, angsty, and super HAWT!
Gaaahh! Completely adored this story!! Funny, angsty, and super HAWT!"If any one person deserved to be the picture next to the Oxford definition of masculinity, it was definitely this prick right here."Evie Larsen believes in love. In spite of a rough upbringing and a recent painful breakup, she still believes in love and a HEA. An annoying run-in with the bad boy of baseball gets her all hot and bothered. Insane chemistry aside, she knows better than to give in to him.Drew Maddox is a cynic. He believes all good things turn sour. He doesn't believe in love. He has few true friends and a family he can't stand. His one true love is baseball. It's his sole focus. However, his bad boy ways and bad press have put his career on the line. He needs to clean up his act."She was both my problem and my solution, and I was pretty sure I hated her for it."One chance encounter with a sexy little firecracker is spun into a promising publicity stunt. Neither Drew nor Evie can deny that a fake relationship might be advantageous to them both. They just need to keep things businesslike and their hands off each other. However, that's easier said than done when there's serious mutual attraction between them."While I prided myself on having no limits, I'd apparently found my first one. Resisting this damned woman."Wowzers! I've read the previous book in this series, Dirty Deeds, and thought it was fabulous! Once again, the author brings her own brand of sexiness and humour to this novel, and I absolutely adored it!Drew is cocky and brash, and one hot-blooded alpha! I loved how much he wanted Evie, and how hard he tried to fight it. I liked that he didn't just grab his opportunity when it was presented to him on a platter, and that underneath his playboy façade lurks a decent heart. Evie absolutely tested his self-control!"The way she seeped into my skin and got into my head was everything I never wanted, but at this point I was too lost in her to stop it."Evie was so hung up on her previous boyfriend due to their long history, however, there's no denying the sizzling desire between her and Drew. I loved her character! She was sassy, confident, and didn't put up with any of his nonsense. I loved how she challenged him. He'd really met his match in her. This was a fabulous read with great characters, amusing dialogue, and just the right amount of angst. Evie and Drew together were so swoony!! Thoroughly recommend!

Pretend boyfriend story
Drew is a famous baseball player that has a bad temper. In order to change his imagine and save his job his agent has said he needs to pretend to be Evie’s boyfriend.Drew has only met Evie once, when he over heard her drunk leaving a message on her ex boyfriends voicemail. Drew had, heard enough of her rambling and asked her to stop! They argued and she stormed off, which had been caught on camera, making people think they were a couple.I enjoyed Drew and Evie’s story. They are both so good together it was lovely to see their story unfold.

ok but poor ending
I don’t like surprise pregnancy tropes and this felt rushed and unnecessary. I feel there could have been more angst at the end, I loved the spice and the banter between the two but fell flat at the end.
