American Standard does not make the proper part any more. This fits like a glove and works perfectly for this particular toilet tank application! THANK YOU!!!!! Saved me having to do an expensive replacement repair.

Perfect fit in old American Standard toilet.
Perfect fit for my 37 year old toilet. This is the “old style” where the flapper seal and the regulator tube above have a shallow angle. It looks just like the photo on the listing. I plan to buy more as backups for my other vintage toilets.One note- the size of the hole in the regulator tube controls how fast the water runs out of it. This one has a small enough hole that it stays open long ong enough to fully empty the tank, and then some. And I have the full valve set to the maximum fill for this tank, which means it is quite a bit of water. I might want to drill the hole in the tube out a tiny bit to get it to close just as the water finishes emptying from the tank so that it will save a bit of water and finish filling quicker.
