Sure you could use any pair of pliers and remove the Valve seals but this is a relatively inexpensive tool for the job which not just looks professional but also makes the job easier and quicker without having to worry with a slip of a regular pliers and potentially squeezing your finger or something lol. Worthy purchase.

Made the job so easy to remove valve stem seals and with the other install tools putting them back on will be just as easy. Had been using channellocks prior to buying this tool and there is a big chance of slipping off the valve seal and damaging the valve stem. Then if you haven't already you must remove the cylinder head to replace damaged valve. Probably be able to use in other applications where a good grip on cylindrical objects is required.

Used on a honda vtec head. Definitely am happy with this purchase

I was lucky where the pliers worked on both the Honda and GM LS seals I tried. 4 stars because the relief for the springs wasn't deep enough for the Honda and the rods don't fit well in the guides. I used a washer and the next size smaller for both heads.

It works, good clamping force on the pullers. Only complaint is the sizes are tight. The 6mm wouldn’t go into my 6mm valve guides. Had to use the 5.5. Just use hand force to install. I tapped one in and the spring on the seal pinched and broke.
