Can I actually put this teapot on the stove burner to heat up the water? Or do I have to put already boiling water into it?

Yes, it is definitely suitable to heat water in the teapot directly on the stove. I bought this item a few weeks ago and have used it every day since. Every time I have heated the teapot on the stove burner. I have a gas stove. My husband even uses my teapot to heat water for his coffee. It heats up quite quickly. The handle on the teapot is very hot for at least a few minutes. This has not been a problem for me as I just move it from the stove top to my counter with an oven mit, and when my tea is done brewing the handle is cooled down.

Is the teapot microwave save?

I love this teapot, and find it best to put it in the microwave to heat the water after removing the metal parts. I can bring the water to a rolling boil and the glass is very hot, so the temperature is held high for brewing. It will also stay hot if you use a tea cozy and pad underneath.

Does the lid still fit when you remove the infuser?

You can remove the infuser, but you have to leave the lip that the infuser fits through in the teapot for the lid to still fit. Works great

Can you heat it on a teapot warmer (with candles)?

I would guess yesâ¦I have not used tealites but have used it on my gas stovetop.
