Works perfectly for my purpose
My mother moved into a ground floor apartment, and when it rains heavily water gets in her apartment. It doesn’t flood, it’s just enough to soak her entry rug and get a foot or two into her living area. I bought one of these around May of 2024, and it has worked to keep water completely out of her apartment almost every time she’s used it (for one really heavy rainstorm, she got about 1 cup of water in the entry). Last night we had heavy rain that lasted several hours, and not one drop got in the apartment. The biggest deltas are that once it’s soaked and it expands, she can’t move it around (being 82 and 5’ 2”/>100lbs), and that you need a place to store it (preferably in the sun) when you’re not using it.Note: I’ve seen several reviews with people complaining about the “deflation” time of these dams. They don’t “inflate” or “deflate”. The crystals inside soak up liquid and expand. It literally takes months for the crystals to dry, and they’re not going to get back to their original condition; however, mom’s has worked great regardless.

These things are invaluable
I have used these dams multiple times and they always work great. In the past, used them in FL when a hurricane was coming and I wanted to keep water from coming in the bottom of the garage door. This time, I used these in WNC as a “bumper” of sorts to route water away from the foundation and keep the lower level of the house which is partially underground dry. Even with all the rains from Helene, these did their job and saved me from flooding inside like some of the neighbors had. I know I can dry them to reuse but that seems to take awhile and they are a little bulkier than when out of package. More of a one time use really as I don’t want to attract mold but worth every penny as it saves big money for flood and mold restoration.

These work well. Good for blocking a doorway.
I have used on for two seasons. In the second year it did not plump up as much, but still very usefull.

KEEPS FLOOD WATER AT BAY
I live on a big lake. My living room faces it and is only a few feet away. However, when it rains hard I used to always see water coming into the foundation. No longer.I bought three of these. They have some type crystals in them that EXPAND when water hits them.So they did help and also dried by themselves in a few days time.A contractor thereafter, of course, also fixed the outside premises, so all is well, so far.But...I still keep the three 5 Foot Quick Dam barriers there.

but unfortunately this was just a waste of money for us for this purpose
I bought this barrier to put in a regular doorway to help prevent water from our cellar-way from getting into our basement. This didn't work because the barrier is 5' long and the width of a doorway is around 3' long. I looked for a smaller barrier and couldn't find one. I thought I could bend this barrier up while it wasn't wet and then when it became saturated and swelled it would conform to the doorway's shape. Wishful thinking! This 5' bag couldn't dam up the corners of the doorway where the water was entering so this didn't serve our purpose at all. I think if you have a slider door or an opening that's straight and long then this would work, but unfortunately this was just a waste of money for us for this purpose.

Life Saver
I have an old house with a sunroom. The patio outside is uneven so the water flows into the room. These have kept the water out. I no longer have to have piles of rags all along the bottom sides of the walls to stop the water from coming in.

works
If you have any water problems this is the product to get, stops the water and keeps it within it, can be dried out a few times. Make sure you buy the correct length
