Excellent Storage Glass Item with the cover, which can be used for Baking. I like Pyrex brand and I already two of these but because of the compact size, I bought another one. I think that the size is deceiving; it can really hold a lot of food. Excellent value.

This is a review for Pyrex Simply Store 6-Cup Rectangular Glass Bakeware and Food Storage Dish by Pyrex. This is high quality glassware. I have used them in the oven (take the lid off first), fridge and freezer and dishwasher with excellent results. I have experienced no issues so far and I have many of these dishes in various shapes and size. They stack really nicely either for storing empty or stacking your left overs in the fridge or freezer. I find that overall the oblong dishes have the most versatility in the storage capacity. In all the time that I have been using these pyrex dishes I have seen no sign of the dishes absorbing food flavors or odors and they clean up sparkling every time to look just like new. These dishes look good enough to take over to friends or family when you deliver your world famous lasagna or if you have entertained you can let your guests take home a couple of slices. Either way, like my experience, you will get admiring words as to the quality of yhese dishes over the usual rubbermaid or low quality “doggie” dishes that other folks use. I highly recommend the versatility and durability of the Pyrex brand. I am not affiliated with the company in anyway. I'm going to be fair. My use for this product is way off lable. I use it to acclimate pet shrimp to their new tank. That said, using a dish like this is a common way to do that, so in case that's what you're buying it for, its quality depends on the size bag you get your shrimp in. This dish is really small. For the large bags it's a little hard. Figure the size you get from most local fish stores. There is more water than the dish can handle and it's possible to have a shrimp go right over the edge if you just pour it over the sink or something so that's not an option. My workaround is to use a straight pin to pop a hole in the bag and let some of the water out that way until it's low enough to pour into this. If you're using the small bags, say what some but not all online fish vendors use for shrimp, then this is exactly what you need. The larger ones won't work because the water level will be too low for the shrimp. This is ideal for that. If it's mixed, sometimes buy one way and sometimes the other, then I'd stick with this. It's easier to drain some than to work around there being too little if you can't just randomly add more. That is the point of acclimation after all. For food, this would be the size I'd use to take lunch to work if that helps. For the quality of the dish itself, obviously I haven't tried putting it in the microwave, but I did lid it with water in it and some moss balls (thankfully no animals) and it took a header off a table thanks to a curious cat. It landed on carpeting. It didn't break. The lid did not come off. It did not leak. I like how sturdy it is and how securely the lid stays on.

Good container with probably a short lived plastic lid which, from my experience with others I’ve had, needs to be replaced with a silicone lid, is to be expected. Hence reserving one star. I have these in various sizes and shapes….cant beat glass for safe food storage.

Reliable and Perfect for Meal Prep! I’m a huge fan of Pyrex, and this 3-cup rectangular container is no exception! It’s the perfect size for portioning out meals or storing leftovers. During these COVID times my produce groceries come in less often and have to stay fresh longer. I’ve discovered storing produce in sealed glass containers in a chilly fridge prolongs shelf life A LOT. Handy size for keeping foods fresh in the fridge. Lid flexes enough to give a little for overstuffing (not a lot of give, just a little). Be aware: If you wash by hand, large glass containers are heavy and get slippery. Glass containers also not light when filled with food so be prepared to use two hands when moving it around. Nice because it’s stackable in the fridge. I also freeze things in these, that’s worked well also. I also use for storing baked goods in the fridge. Liked it enough to reorder several more. AUGUST 12, 2022 UPDATE: Wanted to say all of these that I've ordered still fully functional. No broken/cracked glass or lids; lids still seal well. I handwash these and then towel and hand-dry, so perhaps that's why they've held up so well, but they look as good as the day I purchased them. Because they're a bit heavy and slippery when wet, I definitely focus and am careful when handling these so I don't drop them. The chilled glass in the fridge definitely keeps produce fresh longer than plastic (and probably healthier too), so worth the extra care.

Pyrex products don't need reviews. They are the best by far.

Used to be able to pick these up in Australia easily, unfortunately they have become rare as hens teeth and everyone buys the cheaper thinner ones with white lids that are far more delicate. The green lid ones are very useful but not the same, although they do have the thick glass.
