Surprisingly Good
At the price I paid I was not expecting very much, but I've been surprised at how well this pot is built. It works great. I expected it to take a long time to melt 16 ounces of solder given it's modest power rating, but it not that long at all. The size of the pot is perfect to easily hold a 17 ounce solder stick. The first melt takes longer because there's not much heat transfer surface, so I found it needed a bit of a rub of the stick to get it started, but once the bottom of the pot is covered with metal the rest melts pretty quickly. After the solder is melted the first time, it melts very quickly the second time (I'm guessing about 10 minutes) because of the perfect pot to metal contact. The included stirring stick is perfect size to clean off the cruft from litz wire insulation. I turn it up to about 7.5 or 8 on the scale and it gets plenty hot plenty quick.

A Good Solder Pot for a Reasonable Price
Works as it should, so far (one week in as I write this). Because it is a relatively inexpensive unit, the adjustment wheel bears only an indirect relationship with temperature, although most of the time, that's good enough. I use it to melt ChipQuick bar solder and use that to tin wires for the onboard bass preamps I make by hand. I have a temp. gun in case I need to know the exact temperature, but most of the time it isn't necessary. With experience and observation you quickly learn where to set the dial and leave it there for next time.

Excellent Value for Tinning Fine Wires – Just Wish It Came Smaller
For the price, this is a no-brainer. I use it occasionally to tin wires, especially challenging ones like ultra-thin bundles of enameled wire commonly found in audio work. For that purpose, it works perfectly. The build quality isn't the best, but it functions well so far. Heating is a bit slow, durability questionable, but at $15, that's a reasonable tradeoff. I do wish it came in a smaller size—maybe around 25ml or even 12ml—as the included 50mm pot is still oversized for occasional fine wire work. Overall, this is a functional, budget-friendly tool that's great for light-duty use. Excellent value for the money!

Good solder pot that is good for hobbyist
Great solder pot. Takes a bit to heat up but is very consistent and works well. Includes an extra pot which is nice. Built well and easy to use. Size is great for my bench and not too large.

Hot solder pot, but flimsy metal case.
Heats up very fast and keeps the solder hot for easy use. The metal case is thin and flimsy, only drawback.

Good working solder pot.
received fast and easy. Loaded it up with bar solder, set it at 6 on the dial and it was ready in about 20 minutes. The current draw at 6 was only 1.2 amps. I'm using it to tin a group of wires for an electronic project.

Indeterminate voltage and wattage
The leaflet enclosed lists 4 models to which the one leaflet apparently applies: 11C - 100W 21C - 150W 31C - 250W 41C - 300W However, unlike the device depicted in the Amazon web page, there is no such indication anywhere on the device - just two indications ‘HT-A’ and ‘HT-B’ on the faceplate, which I assume to be models, with a red dot having been inked beside the ‘HT-B’. Further, the leaflet warns that the device is for 220VAC, 50 Hz (eg UK), although the plug is a standard 110VAC US grounded plug Also, there is no indication that the design has been tested and certified by any US regulatory body or industrial standards organization. I plugged the device in, switched it on, the switch illuminated, and i could feel the solder pot heating. However, because of the lack of definitive indication on the device, as well as the confusion concerning the supply voltage for which the heating system is designed, I have absolutely no idea what actual wattage this device is, and whether it is suitable for my tasks. I feel certain the item I received had been delivered previously (although not used, apparently), and returned: 1. The sticky side of the piece of adhesive tape used to close the bubble wrap bag wax folded over against itself. 2. The twist-tie used to wrap the electric cable was loose in the bag 3. The switch was in ‘On’ position 4. There were fingerprints on the faceplate Therefore, rather than testing it with solder in it, and also risking electrocuting myself due to the lack of certification, I am returning it unused - just as the previous recipient evidently did!

Wished I would have purchased 2 with the discount
Works great for a solder pot and rosen pot. After reading some reviews on these units that the cases are thin or too light weight I was little concerned. I found that they are light weight but just fine. No flimsyness. Light but solid. Better for heat dissipation and breathing. Heats up quick, not as quick as a higher wattage unit however fast enough. Melted a half pot of 60/40 mix in a round 10 minutes on setting number 6. Forgot the actual temperature as I did measure on several settings and it maintained an even temperature in it's perspective range and after cooling down and starting back up readings and temperature ranges were repeatable and reliable. Now for the only con. The feet are hard plastic and very slippery. Makes the pot move too easily. Not good. This can be a dangerous thing.I replaced them right of with silicone feet that have a little suction to them. I absolutely recommend this and for those who can't should secure the cord so it can't be pulled and the pot unit be boxed in a little or secured from being able to be moved easily. Last but not least is the pots change out easily enough and they are tin coated which is good. They are a almost perfect size for a small bench or work space and really wished they made a small side by side double unit in a compact form. Double controls and pots. 4 stars because of the feet. Or I would have made it 5. Included 2 pics of the new feet.
