Just do yourself a favor and don't make price your biggest concern. These bulbs drop in brightness within the first 6 months and then they start burning out like crazy. I purchased a package of these in February and have used them 18 hours a day until January 2027 so about 10 months. The brightness had dropped by almost half at the 6-month mark as measured with a light meter. only one of them are still working In January 26th. They burn out prematurely as normal t5 fluorescents last several years out of the box. They sell a lot of them apparently because they show up at the top of the search results and they have a competitive price. Unfortunately they suck and I've been buying these type bulbs for over 20 years.

I have ordered other florescent in the past and they always arrived broken, but these were in a cardboard tube, wrapped in bubble wrap and the tube was in a box. Although the tube of was loose in the box, it should have been secured in the box with peanuts or bubble wrap, all arrived safe and put four right to work. I bought these for my kitchen and not to grow anything. It might be me, but the color these lights emit does not seem correct to my eyes and 5000k LED light I have over my sink seems to be whiter as seen in the pictures. Very little change when I take the diffusers off the light fixture; they are brighter, but not as white. These seem to give off a tint other than white, maybe a green or blue, and I guess I am going to have to live with that until I buy some LED bulbs to replace these. Just got them so how long they will last is unknown, but when I first turned them on I left them on for 12 hour straight. Changed my mind and cannot deal with the green tint of my kitchen so going with new light fixtures with LED. Cannot stand the green look of my kitchen.

This is a challenging order to fill properly, as it is extremely fragile and requires a lot of attention when packing. Everything about this delivery, exceeded my expectations. Great product, excellent pricing, and delivered 100% intact Thank you Amazon

Love these lights for growing my seedlings and my plants. It produces adequate light. Easy to switch out when needed. I use these in a greenhouse and my back porch.

UPDATE (September, 2017): Both of the Vivosun bulbs that I actually received in working order have completely stopped working. Not just dim, but dark. They didn't even last 6 months. I have had them on 14-16 hours a day over the summer, less in the winter. Stay away. I strongly recommend you spend a little more for the Aquatic Life Hydroponic Bulbs, 54-Watt T5 HO 6,500K Cool White Grow (4-Pack) Made in Germany . Barring one instance of shipping damage, the Aquatic Life bulbs arrived in good shape and are still going strong after 6 months. They are also brighter and have a more blue light. (All the bulbs are in the same fixture, by the way.) ORIGINAL REVIEW (March, 2017): The bulbs were packaged in a strong cardboard tube that seemed to have survived shipping. There were five paper sleeves that should each have had a bulb but only 2 bulbs! There were shards of what seemed like one more bulb that was broken. Where were the other two? Perhaps in dust at the bottom--I did not want to dig through the shards--but it appeared that only 3 were shipped. The two that arrived seem to be in good working order and much brighter than the 1-year old bulbs they replaced. And receiving two out of five in working order is an improvement: I ordered four more expensive, special spectrum bulbs at the same time all all arrived broken Aquatic Life Hydroponic Bulbs, 54-Watt T5 HO 6,500K Cool White Grow (4-Pack) Made in Germany (but at least there were clearly 4 bulbs shipped). UPDATE 3/26/17: I reordered the Aquatic Life bulbs and all arrived intact. They were actually much better packaged than the VIVISUN bulbs They were packaged by Aquatic Life, not Amazon, and it was clear that the damage in my first order of Aquatic Life bulbs was due to rough handling by UPS. In contrast, the VIVOSUN bulbs were poorly packaged by Amazon. Once installed, the Aquatic Life bulbs were clearly much brighter and bluer than the VIVOSUN bulbs--even though both are supposed to be 6500K. The Aquatic Life bulbs are clearly higher quality--worth the extra expense.

This is the second set of lights I have bought from this company. The first was a couple years ago and they worked great lasted thousands of hours. This time 2/5 have lasted a few hundred hours and don’t work.

Excellent, I can't stress enough how well these were packaged to prevent damage, very well done. The quality is great and the work fantastic for my indoor plant grow stand. I mixed 6500k with 3000k with these and found amazing results.

If I could give zero, I would- terrible !!! Bulbs blown and I only used them for 2 months- a waste of money. I have my old T5 Light bulbs from another vendor that are still going strong for over 5 years!!! I only used the grow lights to start seedlings for a short period of time. There is no reason these lights should fail so soon.

Decided to give this a try due to local prices just going up and up, nothing to lose I thought. Bought, it arrived quite quickly, threw them into my T5HO fixtures and watched the plants. In a few short days the plant responded to the new bulb and it 6500K spectrum. They are appropriately packaged within their own cardboard tube. Long story short, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a T5HO grow bulb. Specs that I had measured...lux and PAR at 12", 24" and 36". lux - 12" ( 480 lux ), 24" ( 156 lux ), 36" ( 78 lux ) par - 12" ( 14.2 PAR ), 24" ( 7.0 PAR ), 36" ( 2.2 PAR ) My readings compared against manufactured specs equate fine and I'm happy with my results. wattage runs true at 20 watts per bulb My opinion on these T5HO tubes are that they are good for spectrum as they do grow plant well. To get the most out of the light, I'd suggest to have in the 6" - 12" distance range between light fixture and top of plant. Ideally a bank of 2 - 4 bulbs are best in any T5HO light setup so that each plant leaf is given the appropriate amount of light spread. Personally I use these in a bank of 4 bulbs to get the light spread at a distance of roughly 10" from plant top. An honest review
