Looks great, very quiet, good value!
As many reviews said, it doesn't hold as many bottles as it claims, but I knew that when I bought it so no surprise there. Wooden shelfs are a liiiiiittle cheap, but they look nice from a far. Much nicer than wire racks. It does heat up on the sides and top when it is actively cooling, as others have mentioned, but most often there is no heat or noise. When it does make noise it is very quiet and pretty unnoticeable. Because of limited space in my apartment, I keep it in my bedroom and the noise doesn't disturb me at all. What more could you want? Also I'm very thrilled that it has a carbon air filter inside. That's a feature that I had only found on more expensive fridges.

As advertised
I have not had the product long enough to opine on long-term performance, but in the short-term the fridge holds temperature accurately, operates quietly and is attractive. The distance between shelves is juuuust adequate for the fatter pinot bottles (this is not often the case) which is great. The top shelf has a little additional space for even larger bottles like champagne, etc. Note that to get 50 bottles into this fridge you pack them in by alternating which direction they lay. Unless you have all Bordeaux-type bottles I don't think you will be able to pack 50 bottles into it. This same point is true for every wine fridge, though, for what it's worth.

Good Inexpensive Wine Keeper
This is about the Kalamera 50 Bottle Compressor Wine Refrigerator Single Zone with Touch Control; update @ 4 years: still functioning as new. I used a remote readout thermometer and placed probes on the top shelf and the 2nd from the bottom. The variation of temp from top to bottom is insignificant. The variation of temp over time has been negligible most of the time (+/- 2 degrees), with occasional swings of 5 degrees above or below set temp. That performance is very good for a wine keeper of this price. I have one of another brand and the variation from top to bottom of that unit is much greater (+/- 10 degrees, which is a 20 degree swing). As others have observed, the shelves are very tight. When full, they are difficult to push in and pull out. But then I don't do that every day either. The unit is filled with standard cab bottles so they fit and I can fill the shelves, placing the bottles top to top. One shelf broke while I was loading the unit, but it was easily fixed with Gorilla Glue and a clamp. The shelves are built of thin wood, I presume to allow as much space for bottles as possible. Non-standard cab bottles, such as pinot bottles reduce the available space. I'm satisfied with this, especially for the price. During my research I ran into some similar sized wine keepers priced as high as $3,000. They don't perform significantly better than this one. They may be more durable, but I don't know that yet. The Kalamara is very quiet. I never notice any sound in a normal ambient sound environment.

Truly Awful Shelf Design & Misleading Storage Description!!!
DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!!!!!I am not a neophyte and I know that 90% of the companies selling wine fridges fudge the numbers on expected storage by adding an asterisk next to the claimed number and then somewhere in the fine print saying "if you only use Bordeaux-style bottles"...but this thing can't even store Bordeaux bottles double-deep!!! I bought it SPECIFICALLY to store this type of bottle...so when I unwrapped it and attempted to place those exact style bottles in the shelves double-deep, I found that the shelving is too short to accommodate double-deep racking!!! So ZERO STARS for Kalamera's description accuracy. They actually show double-deep racking in the photos of this unit, but I don't know what kind of tiny AF bottles they're using in those shots, cuz I couldn't even get my slightly smaller Chianti bottles to fit double-deep and they're the smallest bottles you'll find anywhere!Next comes the build quality. The unit I got showed up with the door hung improperly, with it tilted more than a quarter inch too low on the left side (see photos). Normally, I would think you could adjust the hinge to correct this, but the two screws that held the hinge were overtightened so much I couldn't make them budge! But it didn't matter since I had already decided to return the unit because of the false storage capacity numbers. But for the sake of argument, if you could get those screws backed out, I'm not sure there would be enough wiggle room to correct the poor door hang anyway. Oh yeah...the door swing can't be reversed like just about every other wine fridge on the market, so if you need a left-hinged door (so the door will open right to left) you're out of luck with this thing! ZERO STARS for build quality. The too-short shelving is made of unfinished wood and doesn't seem very solid. I would guess the combination of the unfinished wood suffering humidity damage and the cheap assembly would give these shelves a very short 'shelf life'...sorry, I couldn't help myself! ZERO STARS for the shelves.I have no idea about it's cooling capability , since I didn't even bother to plug the useless thing in!Bottom line...Amazon should seriously remove this unit from its site for the simple reason that it canpossibly do what it claims to do, and that is in any way hold 50 bottles of wine! Kalamera's description of the unit is 100% misleading. ZERO STARS...ZERO STARS...ZERO STARS

very compact, lot of space for wines.
I was very happy with the ease of using and have enough space for wines while the unit is compact.

Durability issues
I purchased this refrigerator about 6 years ago and it has done its job up until now. It’s simple and no frills, just keeps wine cool and that’s fine with me. Unfortunately in the past 6 months it has become increasingly noisy and it’s getting to the point where I’ll have to get rid of an otherwise functioning fridge. Customer service is unfortunately not helpful (seems like a scrappy operation) and their assessment is that the compressor is ruined and that’s it. No help, recommendations of technicians, etc. So it’s a shame that it’s not a long lasting item. If you buy it, it’s seems issues surface after 5 years

Super quiet, correct temperature
The wooden shelves are a plus, as metal shelves can grab and tear the wine labels if one isn't careful. And I love how quiet this wine fridge runs. The blue light is a great touch, and the entire look is elegant. We tested the temperature, and it runs exact for our settings. Worth the money for the number of bottles.
