My children are older, my eldest is 10 and has dyslexia, so it's always been hard for her to learn to tie knots. My triplets are 9 and only two of them know how to tie, but they needed practice to hone their skills. Now that they're in sizes where velcro enclosures aren't common, and besides, they're kinda old for not knowing how to tie shoes, I decided to buy a tool to help them practice and get good at shoe tying. This was perfect. They're all getting better and quicker at tying, and my dyslexic daughter is able to tie and lace now! While watching TV they'll pick it up and play with it, which is ideal. The only thing I didn't like is that it's also a puzzle, which one reviewer had said the pieces don't come out, but they definitely do, so just be aware of that. Ok I really love this product but the fact that the shoes come apart into a puzzle like thing really confuses me. I just hot glued the puzzle pieces down because they were always popping up and coming loose while my students were working on shoe tying and it was annoying them. (and me!) I also love that these laces are removable. I took a set out and replaced them with Sprinks and other adaptive laces so I can easily cater to whatever ability my student is currently at.

I got this for my 12 year old Autistic son so he could practice tying knots. Just a few sessions with it and he picked it up really quickly. Now my 5 year old is obsessed with it. Definitely recommend!

I use this with a special needs student that I tutor, and she has now learned how to lace we are working on tying a bow.

I didn’t like how the show came apart into different pieces. It made tying the shoes way harder for my sons.

This is a great tool for getting kids to learn to tie their shoes. My daughter was so frustrated the first few days but she was determined to get it.After about a week of practicing off and on, she got it. She is 5 1/2 so will need to practice.The good thing is we go back to it so she can use it. Her frustration level has waned and her determination to truly master this like her big brother has increased. Fantastic tool and kind of fun to work with the entire family.

My child did not know how to tie his shoes, nor did he want to learn. This product encouraged him to want to learn. When I got tired he wanted to keep trying. Love this . Will buy again.
