Magnetic Air Vent Car Mount – Aluma Magnetic Phone Holder – Universally Compatible for iPhone Samsung HTC LG Phones – Strong Magnetic Vent Mount

Before I begin, let me say that nothing "universal" is perfect for everyone's need. There are two questions that need to be answered when purchasing a product that is universal -- (1) Is the product well-made?, and (2) Is it the right product for my application? With regard to the first question, this product is very well-made considering that most, if not all, of these universal car mounts, in large part, consist of plastic. I have purchased several variations of these and this particular one happens to be more sturdy and of higher quality than any other. With regard to the second question, I personally own a 2003 BMW 325xi and I'm very particular about how the interior of my car looks and and functions. This particular mount is very minimalistic, while still offering enough flexibility to adjust for best viewing. Other mounts I tried were obtrusive, not well-made, or both. I have read many reviews for vent style mounts that stated concerns with regard to the stability and block of airflow for heat and air conditioning. This device mounted very well in my car and sticks out for enough, but not too far, so as not to prevent airflow. The magnet is very strong and has no problem securing my iPhone 5s with the magnet for the phone placed between the back of my phone and the case. I'm currently using an Apple leather case, which is very thin. If I ever decide to use a thicker case, I will consider mounting the magnet on the back of the case.With regard to durability and longevity, I really can't say because I have only used this device for a short period of time; However, I will update my review if anything changes and I will also take a few pictures and post within the next few days.Bottom line: This is definitely a mount worth considering depending upon the location and positioning of your vents as well as your needs.

Bought this awhile back and wanted to use it for a month or so before leaving a review (don't you hate it when ppl leave a 5 star when they have a product day or 2). I used this on my G6 with folding case (from VW) and in a Ford Escape. Works great even with aggressive driving (bad habit) and didn't fall off or even shift around. I would loosely place it several locations so you can see where it best suits your vision/reach prior to permanently mounting it. The metal plate supplied was attached to the back of my folding case and even flipped open the extra thickness didn't affect the holding power. It comes with 2 metal plates for an additional phone. As mentioned in another review make sure you don't use it on a vent that comes out of your dash easily..Safety 1st.Well worth the $$$ spent and would gladly buy as a gift for someone.

It's best feature is that it is simple to use and is removable. It comes with two metal plates, one adhesive backed and one without. My cell phone is in a case so I used the non-adhesive plate between the case and the phone. It seems to hold well but the phone sometimes slowly rotates or slides down and it fell off once on bumpy roads. The adhesive backed plate would probably work better as the magnet doesn't work through the plastic case in that installation but you have to permanently stick the plate to the phone unless your case doesn't have a kickstand in which case you could stick it to the case which wouldn't be too bad. The phone as slipped off of the vent once because I didn't tighten it enough. That brings up the minor point that you really have to snug down the plastic nut so it grips the vent louvre tightly. Guys/gals with large fingers may find it a bit difficult as there isn't much room to twist on the nut. But, once installed tightly it is nice since it doesn't obstruct the view through your windshield like some mounts with suction devices.

This has been a game changer for us. I purchased one for myself, my husband, and our son. It's sturdy and so simple to attach to your car vent. If you use your phone a lot, this is exactly what you need. We use waze for our GPS and listen to Spotify in the car often. Every time we get into our cars, we automatically put our phone on this magnetic mount. It stays in place and makes it much easier and safer to use various apps while driving. The magnet you apply to you phone is very thin. My son put his magnet under his phone jacket and it still works perfect!

Waiting the two days for my Menga air vent phone holder was the hardest part of this experience! Awesome product worth all of the hardware you need to mount two different phones on this small footprint phone holder. I had a windshield mount in my older model automobile, but the angle just wasn't right in my new car. I didn't want an obtrusive mount on the dashboard taking the clean look of the interior, so this was the right pick for me. The magnets that you put on your phone are seriously strong and work great. The best part though is that when the phone is not mounted you don't even notice the mount is there. I would definitely recommend and as a matter of fact I'm going to buy more for my other automobiles.

I wanted to use for awhile b4 review. The magnet works well but doesn't stay on vent well. Seems to be getting loose. At times when i pull off my phone, i pull holder too. Idk may purchase something different.

Love it - easy to install! I put it on the air vent to the left of my steering wheel. I make sure the heat doesn't come through that vent so it won't heat up the phone! The magnet is very strong. I even have a pop socket on the back of my phone which takes up a lot of room. I placed the magnet sheet under the pop socket and it holds well!

Am using the mount to hold a Garmin Nuvi 67 gps. My SUV has horizon center air grill slats that are quite thick. Had better luck pushing the Mengo grill clamp all the way in rather than trying to pinch the grill slat between the ends of the gripping "fingers." Square Mengo magnetic head doesn't fit inside rear mounting recess on the Garmin (1.75 dia round), but I used 1.5" round adhesive-backed metal phone mounting plate and a 1.5" round flat utility/hardware magnet to match the Garmin and the Mengo mount. So far works fine, even though the Garmin at 8.7 oz is well above 7 oz. rating for the Mengo mount...but haven't hit any major potholes yet. Very neat, unobtrusive mount.
