Mini IR Night Vision Light Infrared Photography Light for Video Camera Camcorder Built-in Rechargeable Battery with 3 Cold Shoe Mount for Vlog Video Recording

I'd like to start this review off by informing everyone looking to purchase this IR Illuminator to light up dark areas for filming by stating the following. THIS IS ONLY FOR IR COMPATABLE CAMERAS AND VIDEO CAMERAS NOT FOR EVERYDAY CAMERAS THAT HAVEN'T BEEN CONVERTED TO IR OR LACK THE NIGHTVISION COMPATABILITY. That being said here are my thoughts on this little light. Pros: -Bright and adjustable illumination -Okay battery life, about 2 hours on high -Can charge while in use from a battery pack or from wall -Very light weight, doesn't make carrying bar top heavy at all CONS -Unknown longevity I bought this IR illuminator to boost the night vision range of my IR CONVERTED CANON ELPH130IS point and shoot camera and night vision camcorder that already has the night vision compatibility. I am part of a local Paranormal Group and I've used this several times on our investigations with fantastic results. Normally the little IR on my camcorder did the job okay but this little light boosts and brightens the surrounding area very well for its size. I've attached a few photos of a little set up that I use for walking around and navigating the environment. Now for the low price I'm very happy with the results! We will defiantly use these in the future, they are very light weight and can be used for about 4 hours on medium and about 2 hours on full brightness for those big areas. I imagine getting a few more of these and a mounting bracket will work fantastic. My only CON is the unknown longevity of the light itself, its run for at least 24hrs total over several investigations while being plugged into a power bank. So far there are NO dead LEDS so that's a plus. In conclusion, this is a great little illuminator to complement other IR devices or just a standalone to fill in other dark areas. I don't have anything really bad to say about it, its a good quality light for the price. Happy Hunting!

This thing doesn't look like much but it only works in IR mode once you shift your camcorder to the IR range it adds about the 10 meters to viewable range. The multi cold shoe allows you to attach other devices such as mics or more lighting options or meters. Worth it for the money.

Works good with my indoor security cameras. It lights up the whole room where the built in IR light in the camera was not lighting up. The IR LED's have a visible red glow when turned on and are visible from across the room. The red glow causes that part of the room to glow a tiny bit red, mainly the walls, if placed in a corner facing up toward the ceiling. On full or hi power, it really illuminates the room like daylight. Even on the lowest power (least amount of red glow), it still illuminates the room nicely. It really helps illuminates the outside parts of the camera frame where it was previously dark. Only gave 4 stars because 2 of the IR LED'S were dead straight out of the box. Kinda bummed about that. Too much hassle to return and wait for the return to go through and then order another one hoping it's a good unit. Really wish it had no red glow also.

This worked exactly how it was advertised and was exactly what I needed. Only $20, decent battery life, easy to charge because it has a simple USB-C cord (and the camera I use it for also uses USB-C so that’s great) and also improves how far the camera can see by at least 95% from what I can tell. Amazing.

Some things I noticed. I test this just with my smartphone it illuminated a tiny bit. (Probably has an IR filter so don't get much light.) I tried this with two cameras with their own IR lights, and wow is this thing bright. It illuminated a 18ft by 12ft room or so with no problem at at. So folks complaining of it being dim maybe they got a bad unit or maybe using a device that has an IR filter or no direct IR support. I noticed even on a camera that supported IR I had to put it in IR mode before I could see the light well. I haven't used it for long yet but the initial test was great.

Not worth the money. Two of the lights don’t work and not bright at all

This adds extra night time brightness to my IR Camcorder. I love it UPDATE: I want to be more specific on details. On my prior review, yes it worked great with my cheap basic IR camera, however I have a Canon AX10 pro camcorder with BUILT-IN IR and I got to use the 2 combined during my group campout in October of 2024. As I'm a Wildlife and Yes a Bigfoot Researcher as I spend a great deal of time outdoors. I'm an independent film producer of Documentaries and soon to be filming a series on my YouTube Channel BIGFOOT ZONE ECBRO. But allow me to share that this IR ATTACHMENT A long with the Canon camcorder, again which is already an IR compatible device works tremendously and is very impressive. I will be be buying more to add for For a stronger illumination and or back up. With the Canon AX10 pro camcorder I have, just using its own IR it puts a a clear strong 15 to 20ft illumination but in the photo I added using the IR ATTACHMENT it puts out over 40ft plus illumination with great clarity, So imagine adding on to what's already there. So as long as you have an IR compatible device (camera) yes this MINI IR ATTACHMENT IS A MUST. GREAT PRICE AND QUALITY. The charge does well on for illumination and lasted a few hours in 35°/40° temps

This light is reasonably priced. Its light, so it doesn't upset the balance of the camera. The charge lasts longer than 2 or 3 batteries of my video recorder. You can see a clear advantage with a night vision capable camera, even on low settings.

Great little light could be a little brighter but works great buying another one

This little light came well packaged, and at first looked like it would meet our needs. unfortunately, the unit we received had what appeared to be a lose power connection, and we ended up returning it, and opting for an alternative solution. It would randomly shut off. When it worked, it was bright and would have met our needs. I don't think based on the other review its truly fair to criticize the quality of this product based on our experience. I gave it 2-stars, which I hate doing, because ultimately it pulls the overall average rating down. Unfortunately it simply didn't work for us. Hard to give it 3-5 starts when it didn't work out of the box. Give it a try if it looks to meet your needs, based on other reviewers, you'll likely be happy you did.
