Fantastic and affordable automatic mechanical watch
Love this watch, first automatic mechanical. Fits great with the nato strap. Came out of the box already ticking (I imagine from being moved in transit) very comfortable even being an automatic, barely notice it’s there. I’ve worn it daily for a week now and it hasn’t lost any time that I can tell. Still set one minute ahead of my phone. Looks great, easy to read time. Great watch.

Best mechanical watch for my everyday use, for the money.
Short: I did opt. for this specific watch for the simple reasons: 1) The brushed surface will make the watch look better longer, as scraches won't look as bad as on a polished watch. 2) The other SRPGs with the brushed arabics don't have enough contrast and are not functional enough in my opinion, as they are too hard to read in poor light situasions. 3) Ø 39.4 mm is very wearable on more or less any wrist. 4) The NATO strap adds safety and if one does not like it, it's very easy to change out on this watch oneself with a inexpensive tool. 5) The width of the straps for this watch is 20mm, that you find more or less any strap in, as it is a extremely commong width, making it easy to customize. 6) The "sand like" color theme of the watch is very neutral yet stylish, and does not crash with anything I have in my wardrobe from hoodies to cashmire sweaters and from leather jackets to heavy winter jackets, can easily also be "dressed up" with for example a leather strap to match fancier clothing. 7) I greatly enjoy watching the balance wheel moving through the back of the watch. 8) The movement is fairly accurate and great value for the money, and if it were to break, the entire movement is affordable and easy for watchmakers to obtain. 9) The day being showed next to the date is in for me a great and useful addition. 10) The lume is different on the arms and the dial markings, and I think they look great together, especially with the sand color of the arabics and the arms. 11) Sort of a negative, The Hardlex dome looks great, but is a step down from a safire crystal, but on the other side, it makes the watch more affordable. One can buy safire crystals for the watch (dobble domed and flat) with optional CR coating, something that is great if it gets scratched or otherwise damaged. Pure negatives: No S on the crown, only pure real negative for me, but absolutely not a deal breaker whatsoever. And for the price am I not complaining. Extra: After I researthing watches for picking a quality one as a gift for a familiy member, for a couple days, did I get pretty watch upsessed and spent my free time over the winter holiday looking around on all from dress watches to pilot and field watches. I learened a lot about the functional and historical aspects of Casio G-shock, Seiko, Tissot, Hamilton, Orient, Laco and others pretty far out of my range like Grand Seiko, Omega and Rolex. I am a student and didn't have too much to spend. What I study is heavily related to mechanics and physics and the idea of a no batteries, only physics watch got me extremely excited. After all I looked through did I end up wanting a watch that had a rich history, still were modern, were affordable, yet wanted something as inhouse (parts made by the manucafturere) as possible. In short, wanted the most bang for my buck. I ended up ordering the SNZG09J1, the Japanese and green version of one of the two predecessors of this SRPG watch I am reviewing, this predecessor did I however end up returning. It's style is similar, just a bit less "style clean" and it has a bulletproof but slightly more dated movement, as you cannot hack (stop the secound arm) nor wind "charge up" the barrle in the watch through turning the crown on the older watch. Also the finnishes were of a much lower quality as it when new, was a much cheaper watch, and it was polished between the lugs, making it look less thought through and lazy in my eyes. The not being able to set the second arm was the major deal breaker for me. The SRPG35 was for my with import (25%) and transport to Norway around 80 USD more expensive than the predecessor, but with everything mentioned did that become a pretty simple choice for me.

Attractive watch with an easy to read dial.
A quality timepiece with an easy to read dial. However, it is thick especially with the type of band that doubles between the wrist and the watch. I would have liked a slimmer profile and a lighter weight. I changed the band to a more traditional style which lowered the watch to my wrist by enough for me to wear it without noticing its bulk. As far as accuracy it is acceptable but of course can't be compared to good quartz movement. I do appreciate the automatic movement and the price point. Overall a good value which I hope to enjoy for many years.

Changed the Nato to leather! It transformed to my favorite watch!
Absolutely love this watch. The SRPG35 already has a great field watch design, but swapping to a brown leather strap completely transforms it. It gives the watch a vintage military/explorer look that fits the matte case and cream lume perfectly. Very comfortable on wrist, super legible dial, and the 4R36 movement has been reliable so far. The watch feels rugged without looking oversized. One of those watches that slowly grows on you more every day. Great everyday piece with tons of personality depending on the strap you use.”

Awesome Automatic Field watch!
For around $250 this is gonna be the best mechanical field watch you’re gonna get. It’s super legible and has great lume in the dark so wearing at night is perfect. The NATO strap it comes with is a great option but I opted to get a leather one and that changes the look of it completely. I tend to average around -10 seconds a day which is on par with what Seiko claims, so if you want something super accurate you should buy a quartz movement, but this is so much more fun to wear. If you love watches i’d recommend this one.

Great
My first automatic watch, absolutely love it! 39mm case is the perfect size. Does run about 5-10 seconds fast per day but it’s to be expected, especially at this price point. Love the black and khaki dial. The dial also has a very subtle texture that looks great. I personally wasn’t a fan of the NATO strap so I switched it out for a nice brown calf leather strap with khaki stitching to match the dial. Also switched out the strap buckle with a bead blasted one to match the case. I believe it would be a great addition to anyone’s collection and I personally prefer it to the Hamilton Khaki due to the bead blasted case. Absolutely no complaints from me!

SRPG35
Very nice watch. I love the domed crystal too. It’s a bit of a thick watch and the two piece NATO strap adds to that a bit but it’s very lightweight and comfortable. The push/pull crown is easy to wind and operate which was a plus for me as I have limited finger function. A screw down crown doesn’t work in my case. Beautiful watch for sure!

A fantastic Retro-style Automatic
"What do you mean, Doc? All the best stuff is made in Japan." - Marty McFly (Back to the Future 3) I'll keep this short. This has been a wonderful watch to wear daily. I have found it to be accurate, durable, stylish, and most of all - made with quality and care. My watch will move ahead 5 seconds per day, but this is normal for mechanical watches. The winding is easy with manual winding, and the automatic winding works very well. The Lume glows decently bright for a few hours after prolonged sunlight exposure. After about 6 hours the lume will fade to a faint glow, but it is still legible. The lume picture I show in this review was taken immediately after 5 minutes of sun exposure. In summary, I love this watch. And it satisfied my desire for a classic Mechanical watch with automatic winding. Thank you, Seiko, for making an affordable classic.

My first automatic watch! more to come!
Absolutely loving this Seiko automatic field watch. The design is clean, rugged, and timeless—exactly what a true everyday tool watch should be. The dial is incredibly legible, even at a glance, and the day-date function is practical without cluttering the face. The automatic movement feels solid and reliable, with that satisfying smooth sweep you expect from Seiko. Paired with the NATO strap, it’s lightweight, comfortable, and versatile—equally at home in casual wear or a more dressed-down professional setting. This watch punches way above its price point. Classic military-inspired aesthetics, dependable craftsmanship, and Seiko’s legendary reliability make this an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a no-nonsense, great-looking automatic watch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Relógio do Dr. Robby (The Pitt)
Um clássico da Seiko, relógio field muito bem acabado, proporções perfeitas. Não deve nada para outras opções, como o Hamilton Khaki, e tem um custo benefício bem melhor.
