## Description

This Z mount is designed with the professional photographer Alyn Wallace. It's designed to solve below problems: The Problem: - When at latitudes close to the equator it becomes very difficult to use the ball head on top of a star tracker. -It’s also difficult to do panoramas, regardless of latitude. The Solution Adding a “Star Tracker Platform” so that the ball head becomes level. The angle can be adjusted and locked into place and the platform can also be rotated. The platform is a perfect match for the Move Shoot Move rotator but also works with any star tracker..

Review: Well made and just works. - This is a very useful and well made piece of kit for use with the Move Shoot Move Nomad star tracker. I recently upgraded from the first of their star tackers ( several years old now) to the new Nomad. My current camera was much heavier and needed a stronger unit. This Z-plate allows for my 2.7kg camera to sit on top of the ball head on a level field. The quality is superb and it works well. Star tracking now works with my heavier camera.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can you use this off of the tripod - like on a table or flat surface?**
A: Yes you can.

**Q: When locked with a tripod plate, which has rubbers longer than this Z head bottom circle diameter, will it prevent the rotation for panoramic?**
A: Hi friend, the bottom circle is 0.5mm higher than the bottom plate prevents this from happening. If the rubber of the tripod is not so easily changed in shape, generally wouldn't prevent the rotation of Z Mount.
By the way, the diameter of the bottom circle is about 48mm(inch).

**Q: Can this be connected directly to a tripod or does it require additional parts to connect to tripod?**
A: It has a 3/8 female thread with a 1/4 adapter so you can connect it directly to any tripod without a head. You can also connect it to a ball head which acts as a leveler and use the z head as a pano head or for taking perfectly level landscape photos and still control the pan and tilt.  The z head is also great for getting closer when taking macro shots of objects.

**Q: Can this be set to film looking downwards?**

This is a very useful and well made piece of kit for use with the Move Shoot Move Nomad star tracker. I recently upgraded from the first of their star tackers ( several years old now) to the new Nomad. My current camera was much heavier and needed a stronger unit. Hervorragendes Handling, jeder erdenkliche Winkel zum Fotografieren ist gut und sicher einstellbar. Hochwertige Verarbeitung, kann ich gut weiterempfehlen. Habe es schon mehrfach für bodennahe Makro-Fotos verwendet. Nur für leichte Kameras geeignet. Ich verwende selbst eine Olympus TG 6. Mfg JMW
